Well, I don't hate it, but I don't love it as much as I do...

Are you planning on selling everything you have from it? If you played it enough you should've already got your $10 back. (Probably.) From this viewpoint, it's better than Gacha games:

I don't think I really have anything worth selling. I'd enjoy it if I could just figure the damn thing out. But it feels like such an uphill climb all the time

The thing is in splinterlands, (if you see it as an investment and not a game at least,) you're investing your time to earn a few tokens and cards that theoretically will be worth 10x times as much when they become rare in the future.

@thinkrdotexe! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @ahmadmangazap. (1/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

Yeah... What's the point of it being a game if that's its primary purpose, I'd say. The way I see it, if it's designed primarily as an investment and not as a balanced game, it's VERY poorly designed.

It is a balanced game, it might not be fun for you, (or fun in general,) but as far as balance goes... It's balanced enough.

As for, me, it's a bit fun but not so much that I go out of my way to play it every day. So, I get your frustration.

ALPHA/BETA cards are weak right now, but they have higher prices because they're rare... The same thing will happen for every set Splinterlands publishes.

...This risk-reward promise is the reason people buy cards now, and spend days earning a few dollars in DEC/SPS.

Yeah, I'm really not a fan of that approach. I play games to enjoy the game, not make some kind of investment. If they game itself isn't fun to play, then the game is pointless. I guess I really am the only person who hates it!

That's one of my criticisms of Play2Earn games, it's very hard to strike that balance & even harder to keep it after reaching it.

Amen to that. I'd rather it be play AND earn, rather than play2earn. Rising Star does it well, and I have enjoyed it immensely since I started getting more familiar with the strategy of it and such.

Play and Earn could be a good marketing slogan for a P2E game!!

So long as that is what it would actually be... I have high hopes for PsyberX, but even that has the potential to be more "pay to win/play to earn" I really hope they don't fuck it up.
