It does give some insight though, that at least sometimes in different regions of the world, tensions end based on a phone call, not on humanitarian grounds.

The main trigger this time, is a kidnapping of a powerful person, but it's not clear why he was kidnapped, and to be honest I'm only interested in knowing whether there's fighting nearby.

Anyway, the fighting has ended. Apparently, a third party got involved and moved the person whose kidnapping triggered this to a neutral location.
If I understood correctly, he's labeled a criminal by one group, and the other group didn't stay silent about it.
