MY BEST STAGE MOMENT

The year is about to come to an end and I am grateful for all that have been. In all though, I am most grateful to God for his unending goodness and love. Given the season, their are so many end of the year party going on in this part of the world. As a matter of fact, I was opportune to be a part of one. On Sunday 15th of December 2024, the youths of St Anthony Catholic Church Igwuruta, Port Harcourt, Nigeria held her end of the year party. Their were so many musical moments in the event, but I will be shearing with you the one that concerns me the most. I will be shearing one of my most amazing performance with you guys.

Unlike some others that performed pure loud Afrobeat, my arrival was different. The keyboard seemed to have already informed the kind of music I would be performing. Though no one could tell exactly what I will doing, but the fact that my performance will be more gentle than the former ones was made obvious. I finally had the stage to myself. My play on the keys and the piano sounds from the keyboard made many expect the love songs of Jonny Dill but they were disappointed. I ended up performing an original praise song but that never satisfied the audience. They needed more, they needed a love song. I finally was forced to come up with an emergency performance, only then was I able to pull the audience to my self.

Right there on stage, I had to perform an acoustic version of Perfect by Ed Sheeran. The most amazing thing about the performance is the fact that the lyrics of the song were not entirely known to me, but somehow I did it. It sounded more like what everyone wanted as the audience joined me in singing the song. It turned out so well that I was cheered by the crowd even I got lost in my lyrics. Thank God for @eugenia7499 my camera woman, she really came to my aid at some point with the lyrics.

I was done but the crowd never stopped demanding for more. At this point I had to come back home, I had to perform the song Mama by Meyorkun. Originally, the song Mama is a pure aftobeat, but I must perform an acoustic version of it. Fortunately, it turned out absolutely well. What use to to be a danceable and lively afro love song turned out to become an intimacy filled emotional song. The people kind of loved the new version of the song, it was evidenced in the fact that they sang along with great emotion. The moment became even more emotional than that of "Perfect".

As it is being done in this part of the world, some audience had to throw cash at me in appreciation. Some danced in a melancholic way, while most dramatic ones even brought me drinks and food😅. It was so fun that I almost laughed at some point.

I have had several amazing performances in the past, but I have never had any that is as glorious as this. In my entire life, it was my first time of having people sing along while I perform and the feelings it came with is simply unexplainable.
