My ears were sensitized by the reverberating sound of a song which exuded right out of my music box. I heard the rhythm and let it sank into my soul. I listened to the lyrics of the song in-depth, it was captivating... Instantly resonating with me.
The song talked about over expressing too much of love. He emphasized on the fact that too much of everything, though it may seem good, isn't really healthy; it might just be a road to devastation.
"Good thing" by suriel hess.
Sounds crazy right? Well I sunk my ears into the song to get what it actually meant so as to extract inspirations to pen down my emotions.
He talked about having excess emotions for a girl. This spurred him to overthink of her, prompting him to lose his thoughts and do some stupid stuffs.
Sometimes using our brains rather than hearts is a whole lot better. Our hearts work by emotions and not logical thinking. We might end up being used if we are lead by our hearts. Ever felt used before? Trust me when I say it's really heart wrecking.
Suriel Hess probably experienced this heartbreaking encounter and released this song. This shows that every song is an expression of our life encounters, experience, moments, scars and pain. That's why music is just an intricate part of our lives, a component of our existence. Every song has a hidden story hidden behind it, whether you believe it or not.
Well, let's dive a little bit into the rivers of emotions being explored by suriel in this song - Imagine your existence temporarily revolving around the existence of a lady you dearly admire? Definately not a state I'd want to be. You'll become a total slave; your thinking, living, breathing and every damn important aspect of your life is placed at the hands of someone who's able to make you do foolish things. It's somewhat like magic, I mean, it's like being controlled by a charm when in reality it's just our emotions playing out.
If we take a look at life in general, eating too much of food is bad, and you wouldn't want to experience the potency of diabetes, atherosclerosis and so many more, would you?
The same goes for dancing. Of course, one who dances for a long period of time is predisposed to arthritis. No one wants to have a feel of what arthritis could do to our knees, do we?
An established fact here is that whatever we excessively do with our fleeting time on Earth always has a consequence on our lives, and we all know quite well that our desires stem from only one place. Guess where that is? Our hearts! That's why if we don't learn to control our hearts, we might just end up in the abyss at a lost end of the universe.
This song is meant for everyone, not necessarily lovers. After all, the lyrics said "Too much of a good, it might kill ya."
What more could be more powerful than an exploration of the dynamics of one's heart? And what better medium is there to do this than through music!
