Another Day, Another Spending

in Earn, Spend, Give4 days ago

Well.. adulting hits hard, again. I am now at the point in my life where I get excited about the stuff that I never gave much importance to before. And that would be a kitchen appliance.

A halogen oven, to be specific. I never know the existence of this thing until two days ago. Yes, I know the standard oven, air fryer, microwave, and other stuff but not this one. The design is very beginner-friendly as it is easy how to adjust the heat and timer. And also very easy to clean.

Now, it's time to test the thing... After making sure that all of the items that came with it were completed, I needed to look for an adapter as it did not align with our socket. Thankfully, my brother has one sitting on his "man box" so I successfully turned it on.

It just happened that I have a dough that's been sitting casually on the counter, it was meant to be garlic naan bread but oh well. I turned it into a mini buns to see how this new baby works. I've set the timer for 20 minutes at 100°C. (Which should be 10 minutes at 150°C if I read the manual).

I was happily waiting for it to finish cooking when my nephew came home after playing outside and asked me how it worked. So I explained to him that the power on the lid is distributing the heat into the bowl so it's hot, and it will cook the bread. He inspected it, touched the lid slightly, and casually said, "Huh, so it's like an iron". I was in disbelief for a moment but then he was so right. Children do surprise you a lot. So honest, and so simple but they do have a point.

After 20 minutes, it's time to check on the little buns!

Okay, maybe I should've put some egg wash on there to make it look less dry but I will do better next time.

But aside from how dry it looks, my nephew who is a very honest little guy told me that it tastes good!n It's a win for me. I guess! Haha.

So, aside from that it is working, I am very happy with how foolproof and beginner-friendly it is. Here's why:

Simple Controls: It has two dials—one for temperature and one for time. There’s no need to deal with complicated settings.

No Overcooking Worries: The transparent glass bowl allows you to watch your food as it cooks. You’ll never have to wonder if something is burning or overcooking—you’ll see it in real-time!

Minimal Cleanup: It comes with non-stick trays that are easy to clean. Plus, there are fewer pots and pans to wash since you can cook complete meals in a single bowl.

I will love this new addition to our kitchen and deserves a spot on the countertop! That's my simple happiness today, thanks a lot! @terganftp

Thankfully, it turned out fine after all the little tension.
A new appliance added to your kitchen, that's a good one.
And a proud addition (achievement) in the adulthood life.

Best regards from ecency.

Good to see you are still hanging around here. Horray! I'm hoping to work with @sej on more good stuff to come. Time will tell :)

Yes,I am still here.
Just getting back to be more active like before though.

That's amazing 😊
Best wishes dear 🥰

Thank you ☺️😂
I never knew testing a new appliance could be a little scary. But it's a success haha

😂😂😂
You made it.

And it didn't blow up in your kitchen :)

Halogen ovens are awesome aren't they? Inexpensive to buy, quick to cook, easy to clean, you get to watch your food cook (unlike an air fryer), side bonus they are faster and don't even need a "heat up" cycle. Side bonus: if they ever die at least you have a nice mixing bowl hehe.

They aren't nearly as durable as a true oven because their lights do burn out faster than a true heating element but still, I am glad you had a successful halogen oven experience.

Haha thankfully it did not.
And yes, my mother did mention that the bowl looks nice. Perfect for the salad haha

I think it's awesome. :)
