If you know of any threads of how to make badges for the community let me know. Badges are next up on my to do list for the community.
Well... Build up the GLD coin and support it so that it holds a peg of 100 GLD to 1 Hive on the tribaldex exchange.
Make badges so people can show off their affiliation with the community.
Come up with 52 post prompts for the next year (that I'll recycle every year with tweaks) so that I can make sure that there are rewards for every week.
Plus find a full time caretaker for the community who's more engaging than I am :)
(The community deserves a better caretaker than myself...someone more upbeat and fun...but I'll do my best until I can find someone better :)
@monica-ene seems a good interim, I've listened to her ideas and she has a heart for the world. Unfortunately, we aren't superheroes that can save the whole world but in our little corners, we can begin the impact by doing and showing it rightly as do-able
I think people often look to hero's or leaders to save us.
In general it starts with helping a neighbor. Then work as community. Then go from there.
I can't help everyone but I can help someone and that's enough for me.
Or at least what I tell myself :)
Thanks for the mention@tergan is doing well running the community, but he is still of the opinion that that is not good enough. Getting someone that will run the community well based on his ideas is what we are looking at here,Someone who can think and act better than himself, I believe that he know what he is looking out for and I hope that he gets someone soon

Hmm... I don't think its a matter of being "bad" at doing what I can here. I like to think that I am fairly capable. However, I'm not always available as I like to travel and work on other projects. In addition I'm Canadian. By itself there is nothing wrong with being Canadian as I think we are pretty decent people as a whole. However, if I'm looking at the ability of using HIVE for poverty reduction and helping the poorest in the world...
....well, there can be a credibility gap. I keep picturing people wondering "What can a person from a rich country possibly know about being poor and struggling".
I think there would be more credibility in having someone who WAS poor, in a "poorer" country, using HIVE to make a better life as inspiration. Rather than someone who IS financially stable telling others how they can make a better life for themselves.
....or maybe I'm not making any sense. Sometimes hard to get the ideas out properly.

I totally understand your point of view now. Having the poor to lead the others is a welcome idea and they will most likely listen to such a one better. I'm always available to help if need be.
Currently working on the contest post and yet to receive an answer from the community badge maker I am making an enquiry
I talked with @dlmmqb about the community badge. Seems like its something that is done through Discord and Peakd. As I really try to avoid Discord I'm guessing the community badge is going to fall by the wayside for now.
Perhaps if someone seems extra eager and is good with Discord then it will happen.
Thanks for all your help so far. I may need to ask for your help again in the future especially once I bring the GLD token online for community purchases. However, that's just an idea for right now so don't want to say much about where I'm hoping to go with that.

give a nickname to your account like "hl verified'.
It shouldn't have anything posted.
set an image and follow 50+ people to those u wanna give a badge to.
once it's done go to the "peakd-badge" channel in peakd discord and describe your badge briefly, who u are and why u r making a badge. With enough activity, you are allowed to give badges.
if u need automation based on HE balance, it can also be done by asking for a script and running it once a week on your end.

Seems like we may need more community members before the badge can be distributed as stated in step 4.
The account needs to follow 50+ people and have a reasonable activity as stated in rule 5.
We need to get the account more active before this can be achieved.
