It is long past time that I post my update for the GLD coin and the Earn Spend Give community. I want to say its because I was sick (which I was) and that I was busy (I also was) but mostly its because I am not sure what to say.
I have big plans for the community and coin but realize I just don't have the time, energy and charisma to turn the community into what I think it should be. In that regard I'm not sure what to do going forward.
However, at the very least I will support the GLD coin and I am open to 'hiring' anyone who would be willing to try to breathe some life into the community. If you think you have the energy to get things moving let me know and I'll see if I can provide some capital to back you up.
GLD Coin Update
Tribaldex
The GLD coin has held the value I want it to which is 100:1
Well, actually it has appreciated. Instead of 100 GLD getting you 1 Hive it will get you 1.097. 9.7% higher than it was at the beginning of the year.
Other metrics:
Market Cap for the coin is down to $125 due to the drop in Hive value.
Liquidity Pool Value is also down to $180.06 again due to the drop in Hive value.
Hive-Engine
Making sure that there are buy and sell orders on Hive-Engine has been an issue. With small valuation I'd often to go the Hive-engine and find that someone was trying to sell GLD for a terrible price. In that regard I've made sure to increase the BUY orders so people can get their 100:1 peg if they wish to sell and made a larger SELL pool at 110:1 (roughly the current price on Tribaldex).
Monthly Payouts
The coin holders remained fairly similar compared to last month and the payouts went out on July 4th (if I remember correctly).

Staked HBD $6100

Offerings
Now, I'm trying to decide what to do with the $80HBD that I have sitting without a use. I'm putting out a request to any GLD holders for ideas. My first thought is to distribute $5 HBD to members willing to write an article on preparing a budget meal.
I gave @monica-ene a larger version of this topic last month and you can look here for her writeup
However, if anyone has ideas on how I could better spend those HBD or topics you'd like me to support a post of then let me know.
Sample Budget Meal Post
Now Monica did a great job but I think her post was a lot longer and a lot more work than I intended. If anyone is interested in being sponsored for a post here is a little more what I would be looking for.
Ingredient list which has what the ingredients are, how much you use and how much they cost.

Preparation.
This is a very simple recipe. I mix 1/4cup of Rice, 1/4 cup of Quinoa, 1/2tbsp of soup base in 1 cup of water and mix. On top of that add one wiener cut up into pieces. Add the top tray and cut up the vegetables. Insert into the steamer with 1/2cup of water. Push the start button and wait until it is finished.

Okay, it doesn't get any marks for being photogenic but at least it tastes much better than it looks.
Evaluation
Overall this is a very very simple meal to make. I change it up regularly but the basics are the same. The base is a starch. I sometimes use plain rice but I like the quinoa because it gives a better protein profile. I used the hot dogs this time but I've used hamburger, chicken, and other meats as well. Most meat is edible when steamed so why not. I also change up the vegetables. Beets, cauliflower, rutabaga, parsnip, carrot...pretty much any vegetable will work so I just vary it and see what happens.
Prep time is only 2-5 minutes. Cook time is about 30minutes. Energy use is about 0.1KWh.
It is basic but filling and actually not a bad taste. It has about 650 calories so not fattening especially because it is very filling. Sure I could liven it up with more spice. Sure the meat would have more flavour grilled. In the end though its easy and nutritous so I like it.
Plus it is way cheaper than a Big Mac, Fries and a Coke ($12.50CAD)
Oh boy, its been ages since i was here. I tell you, I'm a little lost. Might have to go back down the feed so i get up to speed😂
How have you been @hiveabbyftp? Long time!
Im surprised you could make a meal for that amount. It would be very difficult to make anything decent for that amount around here and certainly, it would be for no more than one person.
A budget meal of $5? A topic on that should be on frugal and nutritious meal
The best budget meals are nutritious and tasty. In Canada $5 is frugal. Many many people (my sons are bad for it) think nothing of spending $10-$15 for a quick meal at McDonalds and think they are getting "value". It's crazy.
I set it at $5 because I'll be providing $5. That should cover the cost of food with a little left over :)
Looking at the rate of food stuffs in Nigeria, $5 can make food but don't think of left over cash because there wouldn't be.😂😂😂😂😂
One meal, one person. Of course if you make a bigger meal then nothing left :)
That's good
Hmmmm
I totally understand the struggle between trying to get things done especially with the running of the community. Well at least you are still running the community at your own pace. Having a helping hand is a good idea, though he may not be perfect to get things done the way you want/desire but been there as a guide will make things better
It is good that you pegged the price of the token to keep its value rather than have anyone toy with it.
That's a really simple sample meal you have made for about $1.45 and if it's a meal for a single person I believe that I can work around such amount to make a meal here as well. Hence $5 will definitely make a meal for two and much better than the ones sold in restaurants here. An average meal with a drink will go way above $5.
