I've been out of the loop when it comes to WOO during the past few weeks. I know that the test server has been opened to the community for a while now but I haven't really tried it out myself. And I was checking out Discord this morning and saw that there was an event about to go live.
Those were some amazing rewards just for showing up. But of course most are busy during this time and I dont't think the 15 participants requirement was met. I was finally able to gain access to the early access testing channel and was able to check out the test server.
Luckily, my 3 losses on the scoreboard wouldn't be permanent. But the overall feel of the new WOO website as well as the battle interface is great. There were a few bugs that I encountered during the test but it is known and fixes are underway. And even though the battle animations are not yet implemented, the quick matches alone are impressive. And I must say, Bookerman understands something that is lacking from other big Hive projects such as Golem Overlord or Splinterlands, and that is the audio aspect. From the brief test that I did, hearing different audio tracks for different wrestlers feel amazing.
I'd say Wrestling Organization Online is almost there. Although AI artwork is prevalent nowadays, the hand-drawn style is something else. This combined with energetic audio tracks would definitely deliver an experience unique to WOO. I hope the team doesn't feel pressured and release the game when ready, even if takes a whole another quarter, in my honest opinion. 😁
