New ECW Mod Video Game Based On N64

in WOOGame9 days ago

This video came out on the Chase Brogan YouTube channel this week. It covers a mod video game for ECW, based on the Wrestlemania 2000 video game based on N64.

I don't know much about video games which get a "mod", so please leave your comments. Interestingly, the person who did the mods in order to make this game playable added several well-known ECW wrestlers who weren't represented in the two original ECW video games: Hardcore Revolution and Anarchy Rulz.

These include names like:

  • Shane Douglas
  • 2 Cold Scorpio
  • Chris Candido
  • Rocco Rock
  • Johnny Grunge
  • Mustafa
  • Perry Saturn
  • John Kronus
  • Pitbull #1
  • Pitbull #2
  • Buh Buh (Bubba) Ray Dudley
  • D-Von Dudley
  • Stevie Richards
  • Tony Mamaluke
  • JT Smith
  • Cactus Jack
  • Masato Tanaka
  • Rey Misterio Jr.
  • Psicosis
  • Juventud Guerrera
  • Eddie Guerrero
  • Dean Malenko
  • Al Snow
  • Chris Hamrick
  • Brian Lee
  • Beulah

Again, this is a "mod" of the Wrestlemania 2000 video adjusted for ECW. Any link to download the game would be in the description of the video. I don't know if talent is getting compensated in any way for this - so it is being uploaded purely for information purposes only.

This mod shows how timeless WrestleMania 2000 really is. Adding iconic ECW wrestlers who were missing from the original games makes it feel complete, and the gameplay still holds up incredibly well.

The big challenge to these kinds of video game mods is, from the talent's perspective, if anyone has the rights to use their likenesses in this manner + if there is any compensation for the wrestlers & managers/valets. I don't know if this mod version of the game requires any kind of payment in fiat or crypto or other compensation - as I have no relation in any way with anyone associated with this. I haven't ever downloaded a mod video game so I am open to comments from those who have done so and what the risks are such as technology risks, risks to identity theft or other hacks, legal risks for downloading this if the wrestlers (or their estates in the case of the deceased) didn't sign off on it, etc.
