Season Hunt challenge, my chase of SANTAS & ELVES

in Feel Good3 years ago

Hello Hivers! Happy week to everyone in the countdown for Christmas. This is my first time joining the Season Hunt Challenge hosted by @barbara-orenya, so here I go with a little chase of SANTAS & ELVES.

In my country, Venezuela, Christmas traditionally revolves around Nativity scenes. It is Baby Jesus who brings the presents on Christmas Day. However, since I was little, I have been surrounded by Santas. My mother loved to fill the house with Christmas decorations, and the Santas were always present. As a child, one of my favorite Christmas songs was Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

The welcome Santa

This Santa is the one that's at the foot of the Christmas tree on the entrance floor of the apartment building where I live. And I have always liked it because it reminds me of the one my grandmother had, which had a violin instead of a candle.

Some Santas of my Christmas decor

The first one is my skiing Santa; I like him because he reminds me of the White Christmas I hope one day to have, I live in a tropical country, but I have always wanted to wake up one Christmas morning and see it snow. The second is my oldest Christmas ornament, but don't ask me how old, HoHo. It was the one I used to put under the tree when I was a little girl so Baby Jesus would know where to put my presents, it has my nickname written on it, and I treasure it. Then there is my snowball Santa, a gift I got many Christmases ago.

The clays Santas my mom made

These Santas are very special to me because my mom made them. She is a ceramist, and one of her favorite things to make for Christmas is Santas.

My aunt's Elves

I just have one Elf que me regalo mi tia. I call him the Friendly Elf.

My aunt loves Elves and has many of them, some like the big ones in the photos she has on display only at Christmas. But she has a little elf corner that is always there at any time of the year.

A Santa from the memory box

And to close with a fond memory. It is my husband and me; at that time, he was my boyfriend, and he dressed up as Santa for a Christmas party my family used to do for the children of one of the villages in the Andean Mountains in Venezuela, near where we used to spend Christmas long time ago.

So far, this is my little seasonal hunt for Santas and Elves. Thank you very much for reading if you made it this far, and I hope Santa and his elves bring you lots of health and prosperity this Christmas.
