It is a new splinterlands week, and another time to talk about strategies that can help you in boosting your game play, there are lot of strategy out there to pick from and different kinds isn't a crime. This week, I witness the power of Katrelba Gobson, one of the melee Gladiator card in the earth element, truth be told, there are lot of amazing gladiator cards but the major important part is when to really make use of them, most times I make use of Quora Towershead who to me is still my most use gladiator card until I decided to test out the water when I saw the Born Again Ruleset, one reason why I like this ruleset is the fact that cards get to spawn up again after getting destroyed but this time with 1 health, most times I always make sure I find a way to make use of martyr cards, just imagine using two martyr cards paired with a dangerous card and at some point, the martyr cards got activated 4x times and boom you that kill shot got triggered.
This particular battle had 18 mana capped and that kind of stressed me out on what to actually picked, if it is around 19- 24, it would have been nice because I will actually pick Quora paired with martyr cards but 18 is kind of small and my brain wasn't calculating the kind of low mana cards to actually pick, it will even be unwise to pick just 1 cards since I don't know the kind of surprised my opponent will bring on board, thought of using a magic cards to attack the health directly but it won't last and this isn't wild battle that I can picked a max kron the undying card. After a while, I decided to use a Gladiator summoner since there is none in the ruleset option. We had Armored Up which give all cards 2 armor, Born-Again which give all unit the rebirth ability and lastly was the Close Range rule which allow range cards to attack in the first position.

Going with earth element, I picked 3 cards with the hope of winning the battle, I picked Fungus Flinger as my frontline since it can now attack, placed Katrelba Gobson in between then add Venari Marksrat as the back line and submitted my entry with the hope my opponent will be merciful but he wasn't, I couldn't imagine how he was really calculative in fill all his position even with that low 18 mana capped. Immediately I saw that, I was shocked and also happy since he use some sneak attackers which will kill and activate my martyr cards and that will kind of boost and activated the speed boosting strategy (something I love using in wild format back in the days).
Game play out
First round kind of give me this fear when Katrelba Gobson try to sneak attack his chaos agent twice and miss, it got -2 damage twice and that place it in a risky situation, if it die at that moment, it will actually be a game over for me but somehow, his two sneak card destroy Marksrat and activate the first martyr thereby increasing Katrelba Gobson speed to his chaos agent speed for another trial then fungus got destroyed again, 5 speed and strength, I will definitely hit his chaos agent this time and I did twice. At round 4, all 4x martyr was activated leaving me with 9 strength (2x) ( can easily destroy cards), 9speed which make it Godspeed ( difficult to attack since low speed card can easily miss), then 9 health and 4 armor, I knew at that moment it is a win for me since we don't have any Aim True ruleset but one of this card had True strike that prevent it from missing and at round 8, he would have guess it is the end.
There is no magic that can happen at this particular round that will change the whole game in his favour, having huge speed cards in battle are always OP except True Aim ability cards are available. the rest of the battle went smoothly since he miss all through and he wasn't able to attack poison and I won the battle. Speed have a huge contribution in winning battles.
