Hello everyone, I hope everyone is safe and having a good time with your family in this crucial time of COVID-19 pandemic.
In this post I have a very sad thing to share with you guys. I am currently studying in a private university in Bangladesh and I have a lot of friends over here. Recently one of my closest friend's father got sick and after some tests, doctors found a tumor in his brain.
His father being a businessman, his family was already affected by the pandemic and now the situation is worse after getting sick. His family was fully dependent on his father's earning like most of the families in Bangladesh.
After looking at all the test results doctor has prescribed to do an emergency surgery which would cost approximately 10 lakh BDT ( 11904 dollars). For a lower-middle-class family, this amount is huge and more likely impossible to manage.
We friends of him are already trying to gather funds for his father's surgery. We are already doing some campaigns on Facebook for getting funding. We have already set a minimum donation cap of 500 BDT( approx 6 dollars) in our section where we have 42 students. We have already requested other sections of our department to gather as much as they can. We have also been sharing posts on Facebook to get public donations. Some of our teachers already helped in this campaign.
But these sources aren't enough to get a decent amount of donation and then I thought of asking from hive community. I am on steem from 2017's end and on hive from the very starting and found everyone very helpful.
