100 Years!!

This day supposed to be very special. But not anymore!!

July 1st is the birthday of my beloved educational institute - the University of Dhaka. And in 2021 the University is celebrating its 100 years. It supposed to be a grand celebration. But not anymore.

We have planned so many things, for so many days; even when we were students of the University, even 10 years ago we used to talk about this day.

Who knew, this pandemic will change everything!

I attended the 39 graduation ceremony of my university. Not only me, all of my friends and skipped the next graduation ceremonies when we were in Masters or finished our education there. We planned that in the 100 years of the University, which means today we will take part in the graduation ceremony. They're supposed to be grand graduation, get to gather of all the old and new students and all. It supposed to be a big day.

All three of my friends including me now have kids. We planned that we will join the grand graduation on 100 years of the University with our kids. That's why we skipped our Master's graduation.

I wish we could know the future...

Just today, I talked with my friends in a group call; we were recalling our memories, our promises.

Nope, we are not holeless, there is still time. But what life made us miss will never gonna come again. No matter how hard we try it will never feel the same as before like we planned.

But this is life, I believe.

6 long years made us build a connection with the campus. I used to live in the university dormitory too. That's why the campus was like a home to me. The walkways, the trees, the buildings, the food carts, everything feels close to my heart.

We will wait for another graduation ceremony, we will celebrate the birthday of the university someday...

That day will come too...
