Food is a vital aspect of life. Everybody loves food and everybody eats food. As popularly defined, food is any edible substance consumed that gives satisfaction and nutrients to the body.

People eat food when there is a need to. But it is not about eating any food; it is about eating healthy foods. People say foods gives nutrients, but it is not all foods we consume that is very helpful to the body.

Some people like junk foods and the enjoy them. But those foods they enjoy don’t help them rather it makes them prone to too many negative things. Those are the kinds of foods that give little or no positive difference to our body. It is best to reduce consumption and replace those foods with healthy ones.

Sometimes people find it difficult to eat healthy because they are already used to eating those junks and less nutritious meals. Or, they lack the self-control to abstain or reduce such foods. However, there are ways to control the consumption of such foods and eat healthily.

Use Smaller Plate

This part is funny, but it is very helpful. Serving your food in small dishes helps one to consume a little quantity of meals rather than using a wide big plate. People’s appetite rises when they serve their meals in enormous dishes than small ones. For instance, if I serve my meal in bigger plates I may be filled up when I consume little but I would say let me just finish the rest and I would eat more than normal. So small dishes are advisable.

Make water first

Water also helps a lot in the body. It regulates the body temperature and some others in the body. Consumption of decent amount of water as people says 8 or more glasses a day is good and keeps the body alive. I believe water should have a high percentage of what one consumes than food. Remember, water is life.

Use slender or short glasses for alcohol

Some people take alcohol. I don’t like alcohol but everyone has their taste but taking a little amount of it is better because excess alcohol has negative side effects. Instead of using short fat glasses to take alcohol. Slender glasses are more advisable.

Display healthy foods

Eating healthy is difficult, but when one knows how their system works, you have to also adapt to a quick solution to help you. Keeping healthy food in easy reach is one thing to do. Most people go to the mirror before they go to work. It is best to keep some nice and attractive foods on the table close to the mirror so your eyes could easily glance at it and you would want to take some of those fruits. One could also put healthy foods in plastic bowls this could make this food to be attractive to one. Larger packaging of healthy foods also helps because larger packaging also attracts one than smaller ones.

Use "Half plate" rule

Another suitable way of eating healthy is dishing half of your plate with veggies and quality foods than the other half with the other choice of meals. This makes your food a balanced diet.

Eating healthy does not only make us satisfied, but it also helps reduce the risk of health issues caused by those unhealthy foods. What we call unhealthy foods are what most people prefer eating, but reducing the consumption of those foods and replacing them with healthy ones would give them a better result.. As they say, health is wealth.
