WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY: My little Contribution

5th June happens to be World environment Day, in line with that I had to engage in some form of sanitation around my environment this was my little contribution.

The sanitation had to do with removal of waste from the drainage system(the gutter).

I did not use the proper personal protective equipment due to its non availability but when carrying out this level of sanitation in your environment ensure you make use of safety gloves, safety Boots, A nose masks just to mention a few, this will act as a last line of defense in case of any accident while working.

It was observed that when rain falls heavily the water does not flow properly through the drainage system due to the clogged drainage system containing waste like plastics bags, used plastic bottles of drinks, sand etc with this we experience flooded roads.
This can lead to accidents in cases where the manholes are not closed one could get into it without knowing and we've had accidents like this happen.
The theme of this year's world environment day has to do with ecosystem restoration. We have given room and created habitats for some pathogens to live in because our environment is unclean environments, this has led to the spread of diseases in our communities. This days we see a lot of people coming down with Malaria and the likes just because the environment the find themselves are unclean.
