Your Game, Your Hero: Exploring the New Avatar & Exemplar System

Looks like December month is full of fun in Splinterlands as their are some back to back update has been pushed by the development team. May be all want to finish the work before the Christmas holiday so that they can celebrate the festival freely. The new cards has been reveled and the one unique thing is that the players can create their own cards and every card will be unique in nature, the team has accouched - AVATARS and EXEMPLARS , this will redefine how the players represent them self and how the feel and participate in the game play. This is one major step toward getting involve the players in the game. Avatars are visual of profile picture, and you can edit as per your choice, the Eemplars are the customized cards, which can be use in battles and are tradable.

This isn’t just a visual update.
It’s a fundamental expansion of what it means to be a player in a trading card game.

Setting My Avatars

After the last maintenance when I logged in the first thig that coughed my eyes was the profile pic. By default all players has the Human Avatars, further when I clicked on the profile pic it shown the more details about my account like the Player Level, stats of the different game mode etc. Click on the edit Avatar to make the changes on the appearance of the Avatar. Lets check the different options available and make the changes.

First tab is the Features, which has the options for changing the Face, Hair, Brows, Eyes, Nose, Mouth etc. I have made some changes in each feature.

Nest tab is for Extra like Complexion, Scars, Tattoos, Earrings, Accessories etc but I do not like to change anything.

Next Tab is for Outfits, I like the default outfit but changes the color (their are four color options).

Next is the background selection. I chosen ne matching with my Avatar.

Next tab is for frame. I like the golden share.

Here is the final look of my Avatar. The next is the EXEMPLAR.

I am at level one so has 20 points only are available for make changes in the differed stats, abilities and mana etc. Each operation cost some points.

As you can see in the above screenshot, section 1 shows the level and points available, section 2 is for selection of Element (one element can be choose form six available elements). I have give a thought on choosing the element and narrow down to two elements - Earth and Dragon (Neutral is not available otherwise the first my first choice must be the Neutral).
By default the card cost zero mana with one health and one speed. Every 2 Skill Points spent to increase stats or add abilities increases the Mana Cost of your card by 1. If you want to reduce the mana cost then you have to spend the points (2 skill points reduce the mana cost of card by 1), less mana means easier to summon in battle.

Glints are required to level up the card and with each level up means increase in skill points. Upgrading form level 1 to 2 cost only 1000 Glints and Glint amount increased for further level increments. Each ability also cost different skill points, for example Affliction cost only one skill, Amplify cost two points, Ambush cost three points and Armored Strike cost five points.

Please note only 18 abilities are available to selection.
I have set the Avatar but not created the EXEMPLAR (just explored the different options and stats available).

Following three Legendary Cards (form Neutral, Death and Water splinter) pulled form previous season loot chests. Kulu Matermind looks awesome and Drybone Raider looks dangerous. Waiting for Gold Foil Legendary.
