Winter in Bangladesh

in BDCommunity3 years ago

Who doesn't like winter! It is almost impossible to find people who do not like winter. At least everyone in our country loves winter. At this time, nature covers itself with a sheet of fog and teaches us to feel its dumb language, through which we go to see the other side of the dense fog. One of the unique scenes of this winter is the extraction of sap from the palm tree. The scene is as delightful as the juice of the palm of the tongue. In the villages of Bengal, in the suburbs, almost everywhere, another striking thing can be noticed. Which is the pitha festival.

It is most prevalent in the village, but now the pitha festival is celebrated in the city as well, with the touch of the village. But yes, in the village, this pitha festival is not held on a specific day. But after the village, now it is a unique festival of the city dwellers. In their case I would say the pitha festival is celebrated in two ways. One is the hustle and bustle of the village and the other is on a specific day. But I think it's artificial. Pitha is one of the recipes for entertaining a guest when he goes to someone's house in the village.

Then the family members of the family members who go to the guest house go to the machine room and turn the rice into flour. Then they bring the flour and give it to the women of the house. They are skilled in making different types of pithas including bhapa pitha, teler pitha, chitoi pitha, vejalo chitoi pitha, patishapta etc.

When our mothers and aunts make pithas in the clay stove of the village, sitting next to them is like the joy of filling one's stomach, but it will never be found in the city. People from all walks of life gather here. Everyone gets a chance to exchange courtesy with each other through this festival. Again, a unique landmark of the city, a small hut by the side of the road to sell pithas. There are also different types of pithas available.

Winter is full of more joyous occasions like the pitha festival. This time is a unique gift of nature.
