A new chapter in our national life begins with the dawn of this day. On this day in 1971, the people of Bengal found a way out of the shackles of 24 years of Pakistani colonial rule. The first thing that comes to mind in the joyous moments of this Independence Day is the self-sacrifice of the countless patriotic martyrs of this country.

Wow! It was bloody though but I'm glad victory was gained at last. The story of Independence is always a bloody one because the colonists are never ready to let go in peace and so all that has to be done is fight and that means war. Happy Independence day
