Bandarban was our Gangtok [গ্যাংটকে গন্ডগোল]

in BDCommunity4 years ago

We went to Bandarban that year. It was about three years ago. Suddenly Niher Bhai made an offer. I also just finished my exam. I was free. So there was no cause to miss such a beautiful offer. Especially when Niher Bhai had offered bearing the entire cost to him. So we left one morning to Bandarban.

Me, at the hill of Nilachal

Niher Bhai's friend worked in the Government Meteorological Department in Bandarban. So he arranged to stay in the guesthouse there. At first I thought it was a resort. Such a beautiful building on a hill, I was thinking that stingy people like Niher Bhai have rented a resort by spending how much money? I realized later that it was free of cost on behalf of his friend.

The guesthouse, we stayed

After arrival, we felt into a deep sleep. It was getting late so late. So we did not travel that day. The next morning we took our bathe in the stream called silver fountain or রুপালি ঝরনা. This fountain has not yet become enough popular for public gathering. There was only s tribal homes around the hill. What a great morning, it was.

We are supposed to go to Nilachal in the afternoon. But Sohail Bhai was with us. He is a very lazy person. After having lunch, he felt into the bed and was not getting up. It is getting late in the afternoon. Niher Bhaiya got very angry. And finally, he decided to go leaveing Sohail Bhai.

After a lot of procrastination, Sohail Bhai finally got up. Meanwhile, light rain was falling. Whether we would go or not, we were confused. But Niher Bhai continuously forced to go and we were convinced. He rented a taxi and we started our journey. There was heavy rain on the road. So much rain that nothing could be seen even 2 yards infront of the taxi. Sohail Bhai swarmed the whole road.

When we reached Nilachal, found an extraordinary scene. Clouds wew all around the place. We were above the mountains, above the clouds. An extraordinary art of nature engulfed us. I was fascinated very much. In my heart I thanked Niher Bhai for insisting us. Sometimes zeal creates a lot of joy.

Some photos with Niher and Sohail Bhai at Nilachal

If you think logically, there was no point behind taking decision to come there crossing the mountain road in the heavy rain. But you know, sometimes the conscience should be given up to the emotions. We could enjoy such a beautiful natural because of accepting the emotions. However, Sohail Bhai was tickling all the way finding out various weaknesses and problems as why there was mud, it is heavy raining, I got wet etc.

On the way, we fall in a real problem. It was almost night when we returned and it rained heavily again. Absolutely pitch dark it was. Nothing could be seen. In the middle of the hilly road, the taxi had been damaged.

We were standing on the side of the hilly road with some fear, some panic and some annoyance. Not a single empty vehicle was available. There are usually no available empty vehicle found in the middle of the road.

Begging for a Taxi

This time Sohail Bhai got angry:

  • I said there is no need to come in the rain. What was needed? What if everyone become sick now? I have cold allergy problem. When it gets a little wet, I become sick._

That time Niher Bhai was completely silent. The feeling of happiness that had been burst like a balloon. We are lucky to have got an empty taxi after a while. So we returned to the guest house again after being wetted for half hours.

However, everyone had affected by fever, cold or cough. Sohail Bhai got the most heavier illness. His nose began to supply liquid continuously like a WASA water pipe. Each time he wiped his nose, he looked at Niher bahi. And Niher Bhai looked outside to enjoy the beauty of nature. These are the memories of our funny Bandarban trip.
