Curator Cat Midweek: It's Definitely a Good Time to be an INDOOR Cat!

in HiveCats2 years ago

Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia!

Hope your pre-Holiday week is going well... today is actually the Winter Solstice, so happy Solstice, everyone!

Glad I'm not out there!

Well, the promised winter storm definitely has come through with a vengeance... the "weather-Hoomans" rarely seem to get it right, but this time they did!

So it snowed, and snowed, and snowed... and then it got really cold!

This makes me very happy that we are indoor cats with a nice warm house and cozy blankets to sleep on. I can't even imagine being an outdoor cat in that stuff...

Yes, even cats eat their vegetables!

Tonight is going to be the coldest night of the year... about 15 degrees (close to -10C) so we're just bundling up inside, and crossing our fingers and paws that the electric company keeps the power flowing... there are a lot of trees with a heavy snow load on their branches, and they get brittle when it gets so cold.

Alas, we don't think there's going to be a "White Christmas," as the frosty weather will give way to 50 degrees and rain by Christmas.

But that's really OK, as long as I get plenty of special kitty treats!

It just keeps coming down!

Earlier this afternoon, the Son-Hooman arrived from Seattle. The drive here took him about 3 hours, instead of the usual 1 hr. 45 minutes. But ate least he is here and will spend the week!

Yay! An extra person to pay attention to the cats!

In a way it's a good thing that the Hoomans can borrow his 4-WD Jeep to go to town to buy cat food! We live in a very hilly neighborhood where the roads aren't well cleared.

Dreaming of sweet treats!

And now, it is time for me to get back to my naptime!

I hope you are all well and cozy warm on this Solstice night... and thanks for visiting my blog!

=^..^=

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communties!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Remember, you can also "cross-post" your cat posts to them!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday Community by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and typically has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
