I sanded down and painted my deck this summer... all by myself. That was a whole lot of work. It probably would have been quicker now that I think on it, to build a new one. But it had been years since it was finished and it was in desperate need of some protection if I wanted to keep it.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.

Most of the wood is pretty good. I have a few board to replace.
