Keychains with wooden ornament

Hello creative people!!! Today I bring you another wood project. Again using leftover materials from work done in my husband's workshop. Reuse, recycling and recycling are inexhaustible sources of raw materials for our crafts. Let's not waste anything!

This time it is a key holder with 4 key chains. The first time I made them was for a craft fair I participated in last year, but at that time I did not photograph the process. Now I made them again to give as a gift to a friend and I did not forget to document the step by step to share with you.

The key holder is a piece that is already made, my husband brought it to me ready. He made the openings to hang the key chains and the holes to attach it to the wall. I will only work on the key chains, both in their making and design. The gift includes everything, but the keychains can be given independently and I thought it was a good idea to share here.

¡¡Hola gente creativa!! Hoy les traigo otro proyecto en madera. Otra vez utilizando materiales sobrantes de trabajos realizados en el taller de mi esposo. La reutilización, el reciclaje y el aprovechamiento son fuentes inagotable de materias primas para nuestros trabajos artesanales. ¡No desperdiciemos nada!

Esta vez se trata de un portallaveros con 4 llaveros. La primera vez que los hice fue para una feria de artesanía que participé el año pasado, pero en aquel momento no fotografíe el proceso. Ahora los volví a hacer para regalar a una amiga y no olvidé documentar el paso a paso para compartir con ustedes.

El portallaveros es una pieza que ya está hecha, mi esposo me la trajo lista. Le hizo las aperturas para colgar los llaveros y los orificios para fijarlo a la pared. Yo solo trabajaré en los llaveros, tanto en su confección como diseño. El regalo incluye todo, pero los llaveros pueden ser regalados de manera independiente y me pareció una buena idea para compartir aquí.

Sin más les dejo el paso a paso junto a la lista de materiales.

We will need:

• 4 small wooden cylinders of different sizes
• Drill and drill bit for wood
• 4 rings with chain for keys
• Black cotton cord
• Stencils with designs
• Black and white acrylic paint
• Foam brush

Necesitaremos:

• 4 pequeños cilindros de madera de diferentes tamaños
• Taladro y broca para madera
• 4 anillas con cadena para llaves
• Cordón de algodón negro
• Plantillas con diseños
• Pintura acrílica blanca y negra
• Pincel de espuma

First we will sand our wooden cylinders so that they are sufficiently smooth. We will drill in the center of their bases a hole that crosses from side to side.

Primeramente daremos lija a nuestros cilindros de madera para que queden suficientemente lisos. Perforaremos en el centro de sus bases un orificio qué atraviese de lado a lado.

With the cord we will make a gauze that goes through the last ring of the chain and we will pass the two ends through the hole of the wooden cylinder, knotting the other end so that it does not come out.

Con el cordón haremos una gasa que atraviese el último aro de la cadena y pasaremos los dos cabos por el orificio del cilindro de madera anudando en el otro extremo para que no se salga.

We stick the stencil with the chosen design to each cylinder and paint with acrylic paint in the corresponding color.

Adherimos a cada cilindro el esténcil con el diseño escogido y pintaremos con acrílico del color que corresponda.

Con esos pocos pasos quedarán listos nuestros llaveros.
