Greetings to all the wonderful people of this beloved Hive community! This month becomes a time when many of us transform our inspiration into Christmas decorations, decorating any space we can think of.
In my case, as part of my first creative project to participate in the December 2025 open-theme contest, I've been inspired by Christmas themes, and since I love to knit, I imagined what it would be like to knit a cute snowman with t-shirt yarn, which I made by hand using recycled fabric scraps.
In my country, it's almost impossible to make a snowman with actual snow, although there is a small place where you can enjoy a little snow; However, many of us are many hours away from the journey, and have a rather limited budget, to embark on the longed-for adventure to reach Mérida. In this wonderful state, we can appreciate the beautiful natural phenomenon of snow and experience it up close. Although I haven't lost faith and hope of visiting Mérida someday to see the snow, for now I'm finding inspiration in making my own snowman knitted from strips of fabric.

En mi país, es casi imposible realizar un muñeco de nieve con nieve literalmente, aunque si existe un pequeño lugar donde se puede disfrutar de un poco de nieve; sin embargo, muchos estamos a unas largas horas de camino, y un presupuesto bastante comprometido, para tomarnos la deseada aventura, para llegar hasta lugar llamado Mérida, en este maravilloso Estado, podemos apreciar el hermoso fenómeno de la naturaleza como la nieve, conocerla de cerca; aunque no piedo la fe, y la esperanza, de visitar Mérida algún día, para conocer la nieve, por ahora me inspiro haciendo mi muñeco de nieve tejido con tiras de telas.

To make this beautiful snowman with fabric strips, start by making a magic ring of 6 single crochet stitches, closing in the 6th stitch with a slip stitch. From that point, use a pin to mark the rounds and maintain control over the stitches and the tension of the t-shirt yarn. This type of t-shirt yarn isn't perfectly neat, so in this case, you'll need to tighten or loosen the strips to maintain a consistent level of volume in the fabric. Even when trying to make the strips the exact length, many will end up slightly thinner or thicker.
So, providing an exact tutorial and stitch count in this post is practically impossible. I've worked with calculations regarding size.
