Fire is crucial for human life, and it manifests in various forms such as candles, lamps, wood fires, stoves, grills, burners, etc. The main source of fire is the sun, which provides living energy for all life
For humans, fire represents passion, joy, compassion, and the ability to connect with others. It is also a powerful symbol of divinity, transformation, and purification. Additionally, fire plays a vital role in the health system, especially concerning digestion
Hello, community! Greetings! This is my entry for this month's contest, the four elements. I am presenting fire. The candle-making craft. You must have seen wax candles but this is different than those.
Oil lamps and candles are among the most useful forms of fire we encounter in our daily lives. Nowadays, electricity helps to make our lives easier, but we still rely on fire for cooking and lighting during dark nights. One particularly beneficial creation is the water candle, which burns calmly and pleasantly and can last a long time. If you add a few drops of essential oil/aroma oil or a small piece of Camphor in the water, it becomes an air freshener as well.
now how to make a plain candle for everyday use
.
material
glass 3/4 full of water
1 tbsp oil
plastic cut in a round/circle
cotton macrame for making wick
Pour cold water into a glass.
Pour the oil. It will float on the top of the water.
cut plastic and make a hole in the center using a needle.
Put a wick in the needle eye and insert it through the hole.
The wick mounting like this.
carefully drop the mounted wick into the glass. wait 1 minute for the wick to absorb some oil.
Light it
Here is some holiday special using decorative ornaments.
Decorative ornamental plastic flowers, leaves, and beads, You can use whatever you have.
1 plain glass
Cold water
2 tbsp oil
1 cotton wick here I use cotton instead of macrame.
A small round piece of plastic that fits into the glass.
A small pice of camphor
make the wick from cotton, twisting it by rubbing it between your palms.
Repeat the same procedure as before to make the wick mounting.
If use cotton make the hole bigger. using macrame repeat the same.
Fill the glass like this. with leaves and all decorative ornaments. up to 3/4 glass full
Fill the glass with cold water 3/4 full.
Add 2 tbsp oil on top of the water.
the oil is floating on the top of the water.
Slide very carefully the mounted wick into the glass. like we did above.
It will float on the oil but a few drops of oil come on the top of the plastic. wait a minute until the wick absorbs some oil.
Then light it.
this 2 tbsp oil will burn for around 4-5 hours.
Thank you for enjoying the light I mean fire.
wow never thought of making a water candle before -that was a cool post, with the electricity candle usage for lighting decreases every year but this method as you said can be used as an air freshener & i'm welling to try to make one with some flowers to see how efficient it can be used as an air freshener. good post & cool idea -thanks for sharing, have a good day
