Hello everyone
It's another DIY your hair protein week, come let's grow and add more to the conditioning recipes we have at hand before. As we all know (for those that have been following my HAIRfidence journey and those of us that hasn't let's look through my recent blogs to be updated 🥰) that I'm trying different kinds of approach and recipes to know which works best for my hair type (high perosity hair, sounds like a spell🌝? Read this to be enlightened)
I decided to try out the aloe Vera honey mix hair mask this week. Buh before we get to it let's see the nutritional importance of aloe to the hair
Aloe vera
It contains vitamins A, C, and E, all of these vitamins contribute to cell turnover in the hair, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair. Vitamin B12 and folic acid are also contained in aloe vera gel. Both of these components can keep your hair strands stronger and healthier, in other words it keeps your hair from falling out . Someone even once told me that as someone with high perosity hair I should massage aloe Vera gel into my hair after washing it, then rinsing out after some time that it helps to keep moisture and nutrients sealed in my hair if I apply afterwards.
The steps are obvious and simple, it's well detailed in the pictures also
#;The items needed are
Aloe Vera (depends on the quantity of hair)
2 Tbsp Honey
A bowl
Essential oil of choice (optional)
Hand grater or blender
And that's all you will need to make this set of hair mask
Getting this aloe Vera was a bit difficult for me because it's a scarce commodity where I am, planting it is not even an option for me also because of availability of space, so I asked around and was directed to an elderly woman who I begged to spare me some straw of aloe and she did (was very thankful and relieved 😌) just
Washed and set aside the aloe Vera, cut open using a knife and bring out the aloe Vera gel
My hands were gel-ly so I couldn't use my phone to snap the aloe gel before I blended it
I added the honey drops and mixed it together to blend
The quantity was this small cos of my hair volume.
a detailed procedure
Prior to making this hair mask I've pre-poo
(with olive oil) and washed my hair with shampoo, rinsed out the shampoo and let it hair dry, then I massage this hair mask into the dried hair from the scalp and through the strands, I then cover with shower cap and left it to sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it out with lukewarm water. Then u can proceed like any other wash-day (adding conditioners and sealing in the moisture with hair butter or oil)
I hope we learnt something new and educating?
Yay! 🤗
