In my country, it's customary to have the traditional Christmas dinner, where the family gathers to enjoy a delicious meal with hallacas, salad, ham bread, sweets, desserts, and other treats. We also exchange gifts. On the 25th, children eagerly await the gift that baby Jesus leaves for them under the tree. Moving on from Christmas, which is one of my favorite holidays, I'm sharing with you today how to make a long-sleeved raglan shirt inspired by the Splinterlands character Gnomes. This character wears a sweater with the colors red, black, and burgundy. For this fan art, I used black and red as my reference colors. The sweater is red in the center and the sleeves are black, as is the waistband. The cuffs are red and it is made of ribbed fabric, a soft and versatile fabric for this type of project. Saludos amigos de #Hive y comunidad @diyhub, hoy celebramos la Navidad o nacimiento de Jesús, una fecha llena de alegría, colores, entre otros, en mi país, se acostumbra a realizar la tradicional cena navideña, donde la familia se reúne para disfrutar el delicioso platillo con hallaca, ensalada pan de jamón, dulces, postres entre otros, también se realiza el intercambio de regalos, el 25 los niños esperan ansiosamente el regalo que les deja el niño Jesús en el arbolito, ya apartando un poco el tema de la Navidad, que es una de mis favoritas, les comparto en esta ocasión la elaboración de una franela manga larga ranglan, inspirada en el personaje de Splinterlands Nomos, este lleva en su atuendo un suéter con los colores rojo, negro y vinotinto, para este fan art, tomé como referencia los colores negro y rojo; el suéter es de color rojo en el centro y las mangas son de color negro al igual que el fajón, los puños son de color rojo y está elaborada en tela rib acanalada, una tela suave y versátil para este tipo de proyectos, además es fresca y sencilla de coser, les invito me acompañen en el proceso de elaboración.

The first step was to mark and cut the sweater pieces: front, back, and cuffs in red; sleeves, collar, and waistband in black.

Once the pieces were cut, the next step was to assemble the sleeves. Unlike traditional flannel, the sleeves in this design are attached open, starting at the back. Right sides together, from the collar to the armholes on both sides, I sewed them together with a straight stitch, making sure both pieces matched up. Because there are several curves, you have to be very careful when attaching them, as the sleeves are part of the collar and give it its shape.

Then I attached the sleeves to the front. The process is similar to the previous one. I pinned them, starting from the neck, which is the most pronounced point, and working my way down to the armhole. I also sewed a straight stitch and added a double stitch for reinforcement.

Once the sleeves were attached, I pinned them and closed the sides and sleeves. Here, too, I used a straight stitch, and it's very important to use a needle suitable for this type of fabric, as it has considerable stretch and expands slightly when passing through the presser foot. I usually use a size 12 needle, and so far, the results have been excellent. After closing the sleeves and sides, I added a double stitch for reinforcement and removed the excess fabric.
Pegadas las mangas, sujeté con alfileres y cerré los laterales y las mangas, aquí también utilicé puntada recta y muy importante utilizar una aguja adecuada para este tipo de tela, ya que tiene bastante elongación, y estira un poco al pasar por el prensatelas, acostumbro a usar la aguja número 12 y hasta los momentos los resultados han sido excelente; cerradas las mangas y costados, pasé doble costura para reforzar y retiré el exceso de tela.
The next step was to assemble the waistband, collar, and cuffs. To do this, the ends are sewn with a straight stitch, then turned inside out, folded so that the seam is on the inside, and a stitch is passed along the edges, preferably a zigzag stitch, to maintain the elongation and give more stability to these pieces.

To attach the collar and waistband, I divided the pieces into four parts, pinned each one in its corresponding place, and then simply stretched from one point to another. The piece then had the same stretch at all four points. I placed it right sides together, sewed with a straight stitch on the sewing machine, and then finished with a zigzag stitch.
When I finished the sweater, I realized I hadn't attached the cuffs to the sleeves. This was the last step, and the process for attaching them is the same as for the collar and waistband. I placed the pieces right sides together, sewed with a straight stitch, and also used a zigzag stitch. And that's how a cute ruffled sleeve sweater inspired by the characters of Splinterlands is finished.
Para pegar el cuello y el fajón dividí, las piezas en cuatro partes, coloqué alfileres y fijé cada una en el lugar correspondiente, así solamente estiré de un punto a otro y la pieza queda con la misma elongación en los cuatro puntos, esta se coloca enfrentando los derechos, cosí con puntada recta a pie de máquina y pasé puntada de zigzag para repisar.
Al terminar el suéter, me di cuenta que no había colocado los puños en las mangas, este fue el último paso y para pegarlo el proceso es igual al del cuello y fajón, coloqué la pieza enfrentando los derechos, cosí con puntada recta, también pase zigzag y así está terminado un lindo suéter manga ranglan inspirado en los personajes de Splinterlands.
The sweater's color combination looks very nice; the red cuffs at the bottom of the sleeves are a beautiful combination, and the black waistband and collar create a striking contrast.
