A stop at Tain-l'Hermitage and Tournon (Part 1)

When we travel to the south of France, we have made it a habit to stop in a different town for each journey. This gives us the opportunity to discover often-overlooked treasures and to fully enjoy the cultural and historical richness of our beautiful homeland. Each stop promises picturesque landscapes, warm encounters, and little surprises that make the journey even more memorable.

For this particular getaway, we chose to spend the night in Tain-l’Hermitage, a charming town situated along the banks of the Rhône. This decision proved to be an excellent one, as it allowed us to visit not just one, but two provincial towns. Indeed, just across the river lies Tournon-sur-Rhône, and the two towns are connected by the Marc Seguin Footbridge, an iconic structure that invites a leisurely stroll.

As we wandered along the riverbanks, we were captivated by the breathtaking views of the Rhône and the surrounding scenery, featuring steep vineyards and historic architecture.
