Es increíble cómo haciendo gala de nuestra creatividad y con nuestras manos podemos transformar un accesorio y convertirlo en un llamativo adorno personal.

Have you ever thought, what woman doesn't like to look beautiful and elegant? it turns out that there are little things that we can make, recycle or repair to look even more beautiful. It's amazing how using our creativity and our hands we can transform an accessory and turn it into an eye-catching personal adornment.
Hace unos días buscando algo en las gavetas de mi peinadora, vi entre mis cosas un lindo juego de zarcillos y gargantilla que hace muchos años me regaló mi amor inolvidable (mi difunto esposo). Este accesorio tiene un gran valor sentimental para mí y vi que el esmalte que recubría la gargantilla se había deteriorado o pelado, definitivamente no quería prescindir de ella y decidí restaurarla.
A few days ago looking for something in the drawers of my hairdresser, I saw among my things a nice set of earrings and choker that many years ago my unforgettable love (my late husband) gave me. This accessory has a great sentimental value for me and I saw that the enamel that covered the choker had deteriorated or peeled off, I definitely did not want to do without it and decided to restore it.
Les cuento que con el tiempo el esmalte que recubría la gargantilla se empezó a pelar o deteriorar, entonces me propuse recuperar esta prenda, restaurándola con mi ganchillo y un poco de hilo de color azul muy similar al azul de la cruz. Como ustedes saben me encanta reciclar, restaurar, decorar y estaba convencida que podía recuperar mi gargantilla.
I tell you that over time the enamel that covered the choker began to peel or deteriorate, so I decided to recover this garment, restoring it with my crochet and some blue thread very similar to the blue of the cross. As you know I love to recycle, restore, decorate and I was convinced that I could recover my choker.

Comencé mi labor de la siguiente manera: aprovechando que la gargantilla tenía en sus extremos un pequeño orificio, logré pasar el hilo por allí y realicé un nudo doble para asegurar el hilo y así mantener firme el tejido. Luego con el ganchillo agarré el hilo por debajo del alambre y tejiendo puntos bajos recubrí todo el alambre hasta llegar al otro extremo, allí corte el hilo para finalizar esta primera vuelta con un nudo doble.
I began my work in the following way: taking advantage of the fact that the choker had a small hole at its ends, I managed to pass the thread through there and made a double knot to secure the thread and thus keep the weaving firm. Then with the crochet hook I grabbed the thread under the wire and knitting low stitches I covered all the wire until I reached the other end, there I cut the thread to finish this first round with a double knot.
Seguidamente empate el hilo en el primer punto bajo del extremo donde comencé el tejido. Continué con dos puntos bajos, seguidos de una cadena, un punto picort, una cadena, dejo por el medio dos cadenas e inserto el ganchillo para repetir esta misma secuencia. Finalicé con dos puntos bajos para luego anudar y cortar el hilo, perdiendo discretamente la hebra entre el tejido.
Then I tied the yarn in the first single crochet stitch at the end where I started the knitting. I continued with two single crochet stitches, followed by a chain, a picot stitch, a chain, left two chains in the middle and inserted the crochet hook to repeat this same sequence. I finished with two single crochet stitches and then knotted and cut the yarn, discreetly losing the strand in the fabric.

Luego de ser restaurada, la gargantilla tiene un precioso estilo romántico y además me hace lucir más juvenil.
After being restored, the choker has a beautiful romantic style and also makes me look more youthful.
Como podemos apreciar este diseño es muy sencillo, se teje muy rápido y
con mucha facilidad. También es importante resaltar que no se requiere mucho hilo y lo podemos tejer con hilos que nos han quedado de otras labores. Estaré complacida de leer tus apreciaciones en los comentarios.
