Saludos a todos, la comunidad Jewelry nos ha traído un nuevo concurso muy interesante, se trata de hacer un trabajo inspirado en nuestro país de origen, por eso hoy les comparto un collar hecho en la técnica macramé con la figura de una guacamaya roja, esta no es el ave nacional pero si es muy emblemática pues además de habitar en el territorio tiene la particularidad de tener un plumaje con los mismos colores que la bandera nacional y por eso es muy apreciada, además que es una especie protegida porque ha disminuido su población significativamente debido a diferentes factores, como lo son la domesticación y comercio ilegal y también por convivir con otra especie parecida que es la guacamaya azul, así que avistar una guacamaya roja es algo considerado inusual y por eso muy especial en mi país Venezuela.

Greetings everyone, the Jewelry community has brought us a very interesting new contest, it is about doing work inspired by our country of origin, that is why today I share with you a necklace made using the macramé technique with the figure of a scarlet macaw, this is not the national bird but it is very emblematic because in addition to living in the territory it has the peculiarity of having plumage with the same colors as the national flag and that is why it is highly appreciated, in addition to being a protected species because its population has decreased significantly due to different factors, such as domestication and illegal trade and also by living with another similar species which is the blue macaw, so sighting a scarlet macaw is something considered unusual and therefore very special in my country Venezuela.

Materiales / Materials

• Hilo acrílico para crochet: beige, marrón, negro, rojo, anillo, azul, gris oscuros, gris claro y vinotinto.
• Cordón de yute o cuero
• Tabla
• Tijera
• Dos pinzas para ropa
• Patrón

• Acrylic crochet yarn: beige, brown, black, red, ring, blue, dark grey, light grey and burgundy.

• Jute or leather cord
• Board
• Scissors
• Two clothespins
• Pattern

Proceso/ Process

Para hacer el patrón usé una imagen de referencia, abrí la aplicación Pixel Station, con un lienzo de 18 cuadros en horizontal y 30 cuadros en vertical, con la herramienta pincel y bote de pintura pinté todos los cuadros del color correspondiente.

El patrón se lee tomando el número de cuadros en horizontal como el número de hilos guía necesarios, es decir 18, el número de cuadros en vertical corresponde al número de hileras de nudos, es decir 30, cada cuadro representa un nudo.

To make the pattern I used a reference image, opened the Pixel Station app, with a canvas of 18 squares horizontally and 30 squares vertically, with the brush tool and paint bucket I painted all the squares in the corresponding color.

The pattern is read by taking the number of horizontal squares as the number of guide threads needed, i.e. 18, the number of vertical squares corresponds to the number of rows of knots, i.e. 30, each square represents a knot.

Antes de comenzar con los hilos es necesario hacer la base del collar, cortar 80cm de cordón y hacer un nudo corredizo en cada extremo como muestran las imágenes.

Before starting with the threads it is necessary to make the base of the necklace, cut 80cm of cord and make a slip knot at each end as shown in the images.

Colocar el cordón en la tabla, con el hilo beige cortar 9 hebras de 30cm, tomar cada hebra por la mitad y anudar al cordón, de ese modo quedarán listos los 18 hilos guía, sujetar el cordón con las pinzas para ropa, agregar el hilo anudador beige sujetando con una pinza para ropa.

Place the cord on the board, with the beige thread cut 9 strands of 30cm, take each strand by the middle and knot it to the cord, this way the 18 guide threads will be ready, hold the cord with the clothespins, add the beige knotting thread holding it with a clothespin.

Comenzar a hacer la primea hilera de nudos, en esta técnica el hilo anudador envuelve dos veces cada uno de los hilos guía, de izquierda a derecha en la hileras impares y de derecha a izquierda en la hileras pares, los cambios de color se hacen agregado el hilo anudador y cruzando por detrás con los demás hilos anudadores.

Begin making the first row of knots. In this technique, the knotting thread wraps around each of the guide threads twice, from left to right in the odd rows and from right to left in the even rows. Color changes are made by adding the knotting thread and crossing it behind with the other knotting threads.

Ir agregando y cruzando por detrás lo diferentes colores de hilo anudador para hacer los nudos del color correspondiente en cada cuadro del patrón. Al completar la figura hacer una hilera de nudos solo con el color beige. Dividir las hebras en 4 partes y hacer nudos, cortar las hebras para crear flecos.

Add and cross the different colors of knotting thread from behind to make the knots of the corresponding color in each square of the pattern. When you complete the figure, make a row of knots only with the beige color. Divide the strands into 4 parts and make knots, cut the strands to create fringes.
