Fund Raiser - Helping a friend with funding for a Wedding!

This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.

After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

• Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
• Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
• Selling some of the collection to friends.

The total needed is $575 (R10,000 ZAR).

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!

This is Review #213, I am 372 reviews behind! (Lowest I have been is 314 behind)

January 2025 we are expecting Astra Militarum and Aeldari codexes as explained Here, so time to focus on THOSE Datasheets!

Aeldari, Voidreavers

10th Edition Index

The Aeldari are a species of xenos that much like the humans of the setting, have many faction. The Main ones are Aeldari and Drukhari, which are essentially Eldar and Dark Eldar... or Elves and Dark Elves. They follow that theme well.

But this is Space Elves in a Grim dark setting. So let me give a synopsis of them all so we can understand Corsairs!

Aeldari - Followers of Asuryan, Craftworld dwelling Aeldari who seek to preserve the species. They left the webway just before the Fall.
Drukhari - Dwellers of the dark city of Cammoragh which exists in the Eldar Webway. An evil place of pleasure and pain. Chiefly responsible for the Fall
Harlequins - The Troupe of the Laughing God Cegorach. They will perform their dance and take part in war alongside any of their kin and can be found everywhere.
Exodites - Aeldari who left the webway cities and the rest of the Aeldari race long before anything else happened and are basically dinosaur-riding Amish.
Ynnari - A new cult of the xenos race led by the prophetess Yvraine. They seek to revive the Aeldari race. They have a new God. They are made up of believers from any of the the other groups.
Corsairs - Call it wanderlust. Aeldari live for very long and they have a very slow population growth. Youngsters was to travel the Galaxy and explore, they become Corsairs. Pirates and Mercernaries that work form other Aeldari and often other races. Usually those that become older eventually return to either the Aeldari or the Druhkari or flip from their birth group to the one they feel the most at home at!

A unit of Corsair Voidreavers, the standard Corsairs is 60pts for 5 models or 120pts for 10 models in a squad.

A box set is 10 models and costs $65.

Weapons

All models begin armed with Shuriken Pistol, Aeldari Power Swords and Close Combat Weapons.

All models can replace the pistol and sword for a Shuriken Rifle.

For every 5 models in the unit, 1 of them can have 1 of the following:

• Corsair Blaster
• Corsair Shredder

A unit of 10 models, 1 Corsair can take 1 of the following:

• Shuriken Cannon
• Wraith Cannon

The Felarch (squad leader) can have his Shurikel pistol replaced by one of the following:

• Neuro Disruptor
• Shuriken Rifle (So even if he has a rifle, he does not lose his Power Sword)

Ranged Weapons

Shuriken Pistol

12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in Engagement Range of the enemy)
Assault (This weapon can be fired even if the unit Advanced)

Shuriken Rifle

24" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 1 (When shooting at a target at half range of 12", add 1 attack)
Assault (This weapon can be fired even if the unit Advanced)

Neuro Disruptor

12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Pistol (This weapon can be fired while in Engagement Range of the enemy)
Assault (This weapon can be fired even if the unit Advanced)
Anti-infantry 2+ (This weapon wounds Infantry units on a roll of 2+ regardless of their toughness)

Corsair Blaster

18" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S8, AP-4 and D6+1 Damage each.
Assault (This weapon can be fired even if the unit Advanced)

Corsair Shredder

18" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S6, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (This weapon automatically hits, but has variable shots)
Assault (This weapon can be fired even if the unit Advanced)

Shuriken Cannon

24" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S6, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of 6 to Hit generate an additional attack)

Wraithcannon

18" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S14, AP-4 and D6 Damage each.
Devastating Wounds (Rolls of 6 to Wound cause Mortal Wounds)

Melee Weapons

Aeldari Power Sword

2 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.

Close Combat Weapon

3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S3, AP0 and 1 Damage each.

Abilities

Scouts 7" (Before the first turn begins, this unit can move 7" from where they deployed.

Reavers of the Void.

This unit can re-roll Hit rolls of 1 (on ranged and melee) and if the enemy they are targeting is within range of an objective then you can re-roll the Hit roll instead.

Thoughts

Not a bad unit. I am sure that there are some Aspect Warroirs who will do close combat better than them but if they had 3 special weapons and the rest Power swords it can be quite decent to protect shooting specialists.

Or the other way is to go for the rifles and then the Corsairs need support from close combat specialists.

That makes 39 Aeldari Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 54.16% Completed. The total Completed is 21.93% Complete! Can I review them all?!
