This post is part of the current Fund Raiser where a friend has given me an offer to buy a collection of Warhammer models, the money will go to putting down deposits for his wedding arrangements.

After that I have two other hobby debts to sort out.

• Selling some of the collection to friends.

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Astra Militarum, Doomhammer

10th Edition Index

This is another Baneblade variant and it has the grandfather of all meltagun on it - the Magma Cannon!

Like most Baneblade variants, it can be equipped with an array of Lascannon and Heavy Bolter/Heavy Flamers.

This one also can carry troops and supports a Firing Deck.

They are 455pts to field and cost $185 to buy.

Weapons

Its standard is 2x Lascannons and 2x Heavy Flamers.
Those Heavy Flamers can be replaced by Heavy Bolters.

It can have an additional 2x Lascannons and either 2 Heavy Flamers or 2 Heavy Bolters.

Usually I would just do the 4x Lascannon and 4x Heavy Bolter option on any Baneblade variant. Since a Titanic unit cannot use Overwatch, having 4x Heavy Flamers is not that exciting.

Ranged Weapons

Twin Heavy Flamer

12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on N/A, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (Auto hits)
Ignores Cover (Targets do not get Benefit from cover)
Twin-Linked (Re-roll to Wound Rolls)

Twin Heavy Bolter

36" Range, 3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S5, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.
Sustained Hits 1 (Rolls of 6 to Hit, give you an additional hit)
Twin-Linked (Re-roll to Wound Rolls)

Lascannon

48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 4+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.

Magma Cannon

24" Range, D6+3 Shots, Hitting on 4+, S12, AP-4 and D6 Damage each.
Blast (Gain +1 shot per 5 models in the target unit, rounding down)
Melta 6 (Add 6 to the damage if the target is within half range of 12")

Melee Weapons

Armoured tracks

6 Attacks, Hitting on 4+, S8, AP0 and 1 Damage each.

Abilities

Deadly Demise D6+2 (Should this tank die and you roll a 6 then all units within 6" suffer D6+2 mortal wounds)
Firing Deck 12 (In the shooting phase you can select 12 weapons wielded by units riding in this vehicle, the vehicle counts as having those weapons)
Transport 26 (This vehicle can transport 26 models, Heavy Weapon teams count as 2 and Ogryns count as 3 models)

Close-Range Titan Killer

Each time this model's Magma Cannon targets an enemy Monster or Vehicle, that target is always considered to be within half range of that weapon.

Thoughts

Auto D6+6 damage against Monsters and Vehicles!

Basically, if its not Titanic, any monster or vehicle it shoots at are going to die. If it is something Titanic, then it is going to hurt it a lot!

Overall, I don't know if I would take this vehicle on its own for that amount of points, especially in a 2000pts game... Baneblades and their variants really show off the fact that larger scale games are something that should be considered!

In a Large Scale game I would LOVE to have a Doomhammer on the field and fire its Magma Cannon to that effect to remove enemy threats off the board!

That makes 34 Astra Militarum Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 38.20% Completed. The total Completed is 21.21% Complete! Can I review them all?!
