I remember when J first learned about Commander and threw together some decks and asked me to help him test. It had been years since I'd played. I did a very bad job helping him test XD
didn't help that I'd gone in completely blind with the deck
Seems like there's so many different formats now x_x
ps also forgot to mention, this
requiring continual purchases for those who play regularly.
reminded me of people who whine about how games like MtG are "unfair" because they're "pay to win". I still haven't figured out a suitable response (at the moment it's a blank stare).
It's pay-to-play if you like tournament standard, but ongoing purchases are not essential for casual formats like the ones I now prefer.
Sounds like my first few commander attempts. I'd stopped playing in 07/08 and when I came back in 2020 I had a bad case of WTF??? from all the new stuff.
Lol, mtg has always been pay-to-win in constructed, at least to some degree. It's kinda part of the fun though, I love going to modern tournaments with an old $50 burn deck. Better not miss your mana drops boys, you've got four turns...
