Next month will make it three years since I joined hive. I still remember how I was three years ago, a broke begging student desperately in need of survival with nowhere to turn to for help. Saying life was hard is an understatement and you know when they say someone started from the bottom, I certainly did. Well, I still happen to be on my journey to fame, but this journey I have been on started with hive. I had a friend who just heard about it like three months back and then told me about hive and also onboarded me at the same time. It was my very first time in the web 3 space, so you can say I found it difficult to navigate. Not just because it was my first time, but because I was left alone with no one to show me things to do and no one to ask questions about hive. But then, this was what made me fall in love with hive.

CONNECTIONS

One major currency you will find on hive is not the hive or HBD, or any crypto currency you know. It is the currency of relationship through people willing to help you just for the sake of helping you and not seeking any personal gain. One thing I have seen in my nearly three years on hive is that greedy people do not last here. Bringing a greedy person here is like putting a fish on land, just like a fish would not survive on land, greedy people can never succeed here. The person who onboarded me is no longer on hive because of this same effect, and even I needed to take three months break to truly kill out greed and that was when I started giving to the hive community and thus was getting even more than I got because my contributions earned me connections that has helped me so much on hive and even in real life.

HARD WORK

In our current world people no longer believe in hard work, but if you are a strong believer of hard work pays, then hive is a place to be. One thing hive don't tolerate is laziness. I have seen a lot of people leave simply because their Posts were flagged for using AI to write or for plagiarism which are the two major abominations in the hive ecosystem. When we talk about hard work on hive it isn't doing something that would stress or give you a headache, it is simply doing what you love at your convenience, relating with topics you are familiar with, and encouraging other creators by voting and commenting on their posts. Hive is a place for content creation in whatever way, whether it is art, or music, or writing in any niche you desire, there are always people you can relate with, find them, encourage them and they will encourage you too. It's as simple as that.

A PLACE FOR GROWTH

I never knew I could grow in consistency, this is coming from an addict procrastinator. You know when they say you are a product of your environment, when I decided to make hive my environment, it taught me a lot of things and made me achieve things I never thought of. I read people's posts and I'm inspired to do what they do, I participate in competitions and giveaways and also sponsor some giveaways on my own just so I could grow in different areas of my life. I have become a better writer, getting jobs in the outside world because of how people see my posts, I've become better at writing fiction, creating dialogues and so many things I learned because I was in the right environment to grow. If your new year resolution is to grow this year, then hive is the place to be.
