How do you Fight (or not) against Domination ? - Unity Community Challenge [EN - FR]

Hello everyone, I am happy to come back to you with a new challenge! Especially as the subject of domination is very close to my heart... Some people might think of domination in private and intimate acts, but I want to talk about domination as a general subject. In any case, this is my approach, nothing prevents you from approaching the theme in that light if you feel like it 😉 !

Since my childhood and as far back as I can remember, I have always hated being and feeling dominated. I didn't understand the principles of domination and how they were established in people who were supposedly free and had free will. I confess that I still don't fully understand how one can freely submit, by choice, non choice (which is also a choice) or by fear. Other tools exist at the societal level and we are talking about debt mechanisms that allow us to enslave with a view to a future liberation... which often never happens !

If I had to recommend only one book on the subject of domination, it would be this one : Discourse on Voluntary Servitude by Étienne de La Boétie which you will find in English and its original version in French : Discours de la servitude volontaire d'Étienne de La Boétie. This essay written by a 15th century teenager and friend of Montaigne was perhaps one of the most important readings of my life - along with a few books on Buddhist Zen philosophy, Plato and Spinoza.

I was brought up with an incredible amount of freedom and I have retained a taste for freedom of action and thought. Already as a child, because of my desire for domination, I think I was already an anarchist without knowing it.

Attention, "anarchy" does not mean "chaos", even if that is what you think. The word for generalized chaos is " anomia ". Do your research ;-)

Over time, I have separated the dominations into two groups that remain today constitutive of my worldview: Legitimate dominations and those I consider illegitimate.

The dominations I consider legitimate are obviously the least numerous and all the others, or almost all of them, I more or less contest... By these, I mean the domination that submits me and my needs to Nature, to the Universe and to something bigger (call it God, spirits or emptiness, that's your business ^^). I respect the dominance of those who are legitimate to tell me one thing about a subject they have experienced more and those on whom my existence depends directly, mainly my parents.

Beyond these, almost all other dominations are unbearable for me. But it is in a week that I will answer you with the conclusion of this challenge. I don't want to influence you further...

Gustave Doré - Dante Alighieri - Inferno

Here another interesting and explanatory source on the site of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France more directly related to Dante's Inferno and the engravings of Gustave Doré. But let's come to the challenge itself !

These are the topics that could be discussed :

The idea is for you to dig into the subject of domination. How do you deal with that ? Does it depend on the domination and its source ? Are there any dominations that you are willing to submit to, which ones ? Any memories of domination or refusal ?

But of course I rely on you to find your own approach... The most important thing is that your approach is personal ! ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ I put this in bold because I have decided to put a reward for this challenge and only authentically personal articles will be eligible. Take note of this, I don't want a general and generalized course on domination. Be personal and invested !

Having said that and after this little joke above, this is a search with the word domination on the Internet and you can see as I do how the subject of domination is approached... But there are many more possible approaches than that too, so don't stop at preconceived ideas ! Domination can be good or bad depending on the context, but I'll let you think about it !

In the same vein, I wanted to make a clarification that I feel is necessary and in relation to the image above, I think you understand what I mean. Although I have created this community, I have never seen myself as a LEADER. I don't have the stuff, the vocation or the character. I created this group to share ideas of UNITY, not domination. We are on a decentralized social network, there are no immutable leaders.

If you look at the world and it seems to you that things are not going well, you should know that this is mainly due to the relationships of dominators and dominated Indeed, and to paraphrase La Boétie quoted above, even if on a scale of domination from 0 to 100, you are at level 97, the simple fact that you dominate three people justifies that you are dominated by 96 others. It's simple though, isn't it?

In the concluding article, I will discuss my personal solutions for minimizing the dominance I experience, but this may also be a lead... How do you minimise the effects and hold of dominations over you ?

Rules for the challenge

• Post to the Unity Toward Freedom community.
• Use the tag #unitytowardfreedom first and add the link to your answer under the challenge article (you can also mention me)
• The competition will be open for one week, so make sure you enter before next Sunday (19 March).
• It is strongly recommended that you join the Discord server of the community. All this to get to know each other better and to exchange differently than on Hive. Let's say in a more reactive way. The reason is also to be able to share the links of your articles in the dedicated space.
• If possible, try to leave the 1% beneficiary to the community. 1% is not a lot and it could allow us to accumulate a bit more HP to increase support... to be seen in a long term perspective of course.
• A minimum of 400 words is required, but be aware that you increase your chances with quality articles.
• If it is technically possible for you, try to take pictures yourself, I think it could be more interesting and more related to your daily life and your close environment. Here I use some found on the Internet, but let's try to make it as aesthetic as possible !
• For the images of your articles, another option is also to be considered below.
• You can write in the language of your choice, but an English translation is essential !
• Reblog this article - it will be really appreciated :) The community is still young, growing and needs visibility! If it's beyond your strength, I'll understand too ^^

Bonjour à tous, je suis heureux de revenir vers vous avec un nouveau challenge ! D'autant plus que le sujet de la domination me tient vraiment à coeur... Certains esprits pourraient penser à la domination qui se passe dans le privé et au cours d'actes intimes, mais je souhaite avant tout parler de la domination comme sujet général. En tout cas c'est mon approche, rien ne vous empêche d'aborder le thème sous se jour-là si cela vous tente 😉 !

Depuis mon enfance et aussi loin que j'ai pu remonter dans mes souvenirs, j'ai toujours détesté être et me sentir dominer. Je ne comprenais pas les principes de la domination et comment ceux-ci s'installaient chez des gens à priori libres et doués de libre arbitre. J'avoue que je ne comprends toujours pas tout à fait comment on peut librement se soumettre, par choix, non-choix (qui est aussi un choix) ou par peur. D'autres outils existent à l'ordre sociétal et nous parlons là des mécanismes de dettes qui permettent d'asservir dans l'optique d'une future libération.. qui bien souvent, n'arrive jamais !

Si je devais vous recommander une seule lecture sur le sujet de la domination, ce serait celui-ci : Discourse on Voluntary Servitude by Étienne de La Boétie que vous trouverez en anglais et sa version originale en français : Discours de la servitude volontaire d'Étienne de La Boétie. Cet essai écrit par un adolescent du 15ème siècle ami de Montaigne a peut-être été une des lectures capitales de mon existence - Avec quelques livres de philosophies zen bouddhistes, Platon et Spinoza.

J'ai été élevé avec une incroyable liberté et j'ai conservé le goût pour la liberté d'actions et de pensées. Déjà petit, par mon désir de domination, je pense que j'étais déjà sans le savoir un anarchiste.

Attention, anarchie ne veut pas dire chaos, même si c'est ce que vous croyez. Le mot pour chaos généralisé, c'est l'anomie. Faites vos recherches ;-)

Avec le temps, j'ai séparé les dominations en deux groupes qui restent aujourd'hui constitutifs de ma vision du monde : Les dominations légitimes et celles que je considèrent illégitimes.

Les dominations que je considère légitimes sont évidemment les moins nombreuses et toutes les autres ou presque, je les conteste plus ou moins... Par celles-ci, j'entends la domination qui me soumets, moi et mes besoins, à la Nature, à l'Univers et à quelque chose de plus grand (appelez le Dieu, esprits ou vide, cela vous regarde ^^). Je respecte la domination de ceux qui sont légitimes pour me dire une chose sur un sujet qu'ils ont davantage expérimenté et ceux dont mon existence dépend directement, essentiellement mes parents.

Au delà de celles-ci, presque toutes les autres dominations me sont insupportables. Mais c'est dans une semaine que je vous répondrai avec la conclusion de ce challenge. Je ne voudrais pas vous influencer davantage...

Voilà les sujets qui pourraient être abordés :

L'idée est que vous vous creusiez la tête sur le sujet de la domination. Comment régissez vous à cela ? Cela dépend-t-il de la domination et de sa source ? Il y a-t-il des dominations auxquelles vous acceptez de vous soumettre, lesquelles ? Un souvenir de domination ou de refus ?

Mais je compte bien-sûr sur vous pour trouver votre propre approche... Le plus important c'est que votre approche soit personnelle ! ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ Je mets cela en gras car j'ai décidé de mettre une récompense pour ce challenge et seuls les articles authentiquement personnels seront éligibles. Prenez-bien cela en note, je ne veux pas de cours général et généraliste sur la domination. Soyez personnels et investis !

Cela étant dit et après cette petite blague du dessus, il s'agit d'une recherche avec le mot domination sur Internet et vous pouvez constater comme moi comment le sujet de la domination est abordé... Mais il y a bien plus d'approches possibles que cela aussi, ne vous arrêtez pas aux idées reçues ! Une domination peut-être bonne ou mauvaise suivant le contexte, mais je vous laisse y réfléchir !

Dans la même suite d'idées, je voulais vous faire une précision que je juge nécessaire et par rapport à l'image ci-dessus, je pense que vous comprenez de quoi je veux parler. Bien que j'ai créer cette communauté, je ne me suis jamais perçu comme un LEADER. Je n'en ai pas l'étoffe, pas la vocation ou le caractère. Si j'ai créé ce groupe, c'est pour partager des idées d'UNITÉ et non de domination. Nous sommes sur un réseau social décentralisé, il n'y a pas de chefs immuables.

Si vous regardez le monde et qu'il vous semble que cela ne tourne pas rond, dites-vous bien que c'est surtout en raison de relations de dominants et de dominés. En effet, et pour paraphraser La Boétie cité plus haut, même si sur une échelle de domination de 0 à 100, vous êtes au 97 niveau, le simple fait que vous dominiez trois personnes justifie que vous soyez dominés par 96 autres. C'est pourtant simple, non ?

J'aborderai dans l'article de conclusion mes solutions personnelles pour réduire au maximum les dominations que je subit, mais cela peut aussi être une piste... Comment faites vous pour minimiser les effets et l'emprise des dominations sur vous ?

• Dans la mesure du possible, essayez de laisser le 1% de bénéficiaire à la communauté. 1% ce n'est pas grand chose et cela pourrait nous permettre d'accumuler un peu plus de HP afin d'augmenter le soutien... à voir dans une perspective de long terme bien-sûr.
• Un minimum de 400 mots est requis, mais dites-vous bien que vous augmentez vos chances avec des articles de qualités.
• Si c'est possible techniquement pour vous, essayez de prendre des images vous même, je trouve que ce pourrait être plus intéressant et plus lié de fait à votre quotidien ainsi qu'à votre environnement proche. Ici j'en utilise trouvées sur Internet, mais essayons de rendre la chose aussi esthétique que possible !
• Pour les images de vos articles, une autre option est aussi à envisager ci-dessous.
• Vous pouvez écrire dans la langue de votre choix, mais une traduction en anglais est indispensable !
• Rebloguez cet article - Cela sera vraiment très apprécié :) La communauté est encore jeune, en croissance et a besoin de visibilité ! Après, si c'est au dessus de vos forces, je comprendrai aussi ^^
