El día de ayer, en la capital de los Estados Unidos, se realizó el sorteo para la fase de grupos del Mundial de Fútbol a realizarse entre los meses de junio y julio del año próximo y que tendrá como sedes a México, Canadá y los Estados Unidos, país que albergará la mayoría de encuentros a disputar. Este nuevo torneo mundialista tendrá como particularidad que contará con 48 diferentes selecciones que serán divididas en 12 grupos; recordemos que en anteriores mundiales, las selecciones participantes eran 32 y se dividían en 8 grupos.
En un sorteo donde existió la necesidad de protagonismo del presidente de FIFA, Gianni Infantino, dominó por completo la ceremonia, la cual tuvo una introducción de 87 minutos antes de comenzar lo verdaderamente importante, la revelación de las selecciones y los grupos que deberían conformar. Como es de esperar, todos los equipos participantes se dividen en cuatro grupos dependiendo de su coeficiente o las posiciones que obtuvieron en la etapa clasificatoria, lo cual les haría primeramente ser parte de los llamados "Cabeza de Grupo" y así de manera subsiguiente completar los otros tres puestos.

Selecciones como México, Canadá y los Estados Unidos, al ser sedes, serían parte de los cabeza de grupos, lo cual significaría que otras selecciones con mejor coeficiente serían parte de algún grupo liderado con alguna selección con un mismo alto coeficiente; en mi opinión, esto era lo que me generó expectativas porque pensaba que tres grupos estarían conformados con selecciones con un alto porcentaje de estar en la segunda fase y casi siempre era un grupo por torneo, pero en esta oportunidad posiblemente serían tres grupos, lo que pudiera brindar una alta emoción en una etapa tan temprana del Mundial. Los grupos C, E y I, son en mi opinión los que espero que demuestren gran entretenimiento desde su primera jornada hasta el final, ver encuentros por ejemplo del grupo C entre Brasil vs Marruecos, Brasil vs Escocia o Marruecos vs Escocia, debería obtener mucha atención por parte del aficionado al fútbol, así como también los del grupo E en dónde Alemania parte como gran favorito, pero Costa de Marfil y Ecuador, seguramente serán duros rivales así como la alta temperatura que parece ser un enemigo de los alemanes; ahora el grupo I tiene un enfrentamiento que seguramente será de los más llamativos de la fase de grupos y es que el Francia vs Noruega o mejor dicho Mbappé vs Haaland, es un encuentro atractivo, pero hay que prestar atención a lo que puede aportar Senegal en el grupo.En esa lista de posibles "3 Grupos de la Muerte", puedo anexar el grupo L liderado por Inglaterra, pero creo que la selección liderada por Tuchel es superior a sus rivales, aunque habrá que de igual manera prestar atención y ver qué actuación ofrecen tanto Croacia, como Ghana.

Así como se ha conformado tres o cuatro grupos competitivos, también hay que decir que existen otros que son risorios en dónde claramente habrá favoritos para ser parte de la segunda fase del torneo; se que de igual manera los encuentros se deben disputar y que relajarse en este tipo de competencia es un grave error, pero de igual manera no se puede comparar la competencia que tendrán los grupos anteriormente citados con por ejemplo los grupos H, J y K, en dónde España, Argentina, Portugal y posiblemente Colombia, tengan cero problemas para estar en los dieciseisavos de final; personalmente creo que cuando un favorito debe enfrentar un grupo accesible, es un problema porque el jugador piensa que la competitividad no es en ese momento sino en algo posterior lo cual creo que reta concentración y competitividad, un ejemplo más cercano es de la misma Argentina en dónde el mundial pasado fue sorprendido cayendo en la primera jornada y generando dificultad para su clasificación por muchos minutos en la siguiente, eso hizo que el equipo reaccionara hasta alcanzar el máximo título y espero que en esta oportunidad, al enfrentar un grupo mucho más accesible que el anterior demuestre competitividad desde un principio, algo que también espero de España y Portugal al ser claras favoritas.

Anteriormente, pudiera decir que "El Mundial ha comenzado" al llevarse a cabo el sorteo, pero no lo sentí tal como hubiera ocurrido en los anteriores y me preocupa que este sea un mundial así como lo fue el de Rusia en 2018, en donde no hubo mucha emoción en gran parte del torneo, esperando estar equivocado y que los futuros encuentros demuestren juegos muy competitivos, esperando también que las selecciones cuenten con sus máximas estrellas en un alto nivel físico y mental para celebrar por todo lo alto la gran fiesta del fútbol.
