Siempre creimos que jugar frisbee era algo solo por diversión en la playa o en el parque con amigos o con tu mascota, jamas pensamos que llegaria a ser un deporte en si. Con equipos, uniformes, reglas y hasta campos para poder jugar.
We always thought that playing frisbee was something just for fun at the beach or in the park with friends or with your pet, we never thought it would become a sport in itself. With equipment, uniforms, rules and even fields to play on.
Consiste en dos equipos de siete jugadores cada uno, en un campo rectangular, con dos areas de anotación pero sin porterias. Se lanza el frisbee entre los jugadores del mismo equipo, hasta hacer cruzar la meta con un jugador.
Una vez que atrapas el frisbee, no puedes moverte de tu lugar, solo girar sobre uno de tus pies, no puedes retener el frisbee mas de 10 segundos hasta lanzarlo a otro compañero sin que sea interceptado por un jugador del equipo contrario. Si esto llega a pasar, se deja caer el frisbee y ahora lo posee el equipo contrario. Puedes hacer lanzamientos tan largos como desees, siempre y cuando el frisbee sea atrapado dentro del campo de juego.
It consists of two teams of seven players each, in a rectangular field, with two scoring areas but no goals. The frisbee is thrown between the players of the same team, until one player crosses the goal.
Once you catch the frisbee, you can not move from your place, only turn on one of your feet, you cannot hold the frisbee for more than 10 seconds until you throw it to another teammate without being intercepted by a player of the opposing team. If this happens, the disc is dropped and is now in the possession of the opposing team. You can throw as long as you wish, as long as the frisbee is caught inside the playing field.
Algo muy curioso de este deporte es que NO HAY ARBITROS.. pues si, así como lo lees, no hay arbitros ¿Por que? Pues ya que es un deporte de poco contacto, todos los jugadores saben las reglas y estan comprometidos a complirlas al 100%, incluso anuncian sus propias infracciones, INCREIBLE NO?. Es un deporte sin peleas, gritos ni insultos. Solo calculo mental, rapidez y habilidad para atrapar el frisbee. Fue creado hace mas de 20 años, incluye competiciones internacionales y hasta una copa del mundo.
Otra curiosidad de este deporte es que no hay un area de anotación fija para cada equipo. Si uno de los equipos logra anotar en un area, ahora les toca defender esa area recién conquistada. QUE LOCO!!
Something very curious about this sport is that there are no referees... yes, just as you read it, there are no referees why? Because it is a low contact sport, all players know the rules and are committed to comply with them 100%, they even announce their own infractions, INCREDIBLE! It is a sport with no fighting, shouting or insults. Just mental calculation, speed and skill to catch the frisbee. It was created more than 20 years ago, it includes international competitions and even a world cup.
Another curiosity of this sport is that there is no fixed scoring area for each team. If one of the teams manages to score in an area, now you have to defend that newly conquered area. THATS CRAZY!!
