Tulip

in Art3 years ago

Watching tulips change in their vase, I wanted to paint just one of them. A tulip in a deep wine red with hints of purple, standing proud amongst the others.

Always up for trying out different things, I decided to use washi tape to create a border and place some smaller pieces of washi tape randomly on the paper.

To get a glimpse of the metallic watercolor I used, I took a picture from a different angle:

For the different areas, devided by the small washi tape, I used only metallic watercolor in different colors by the wet-in-wet technique.

Then came the 'moment suprême': the removal of the washi tape!

That's so great! I love the added element of the blocked out space. Very nice!

Tx. It gave me a chance to test a few shades of metallic watercolor. 🙂
