After two years of being homeschooled due to the pandemic, my little sister is finally going to school for her face to face classes.

We were all excited and there were many things to prepare. However, it was all worth it especially when we saw her pull off a big and sweet smile with her school uniform on.

The Uniform
Seeing this uniform brings back lots of memories to me because years ago, I also wore this blouse and skirt. I remember so many childhood memories about going to school and being with my old friends.

By the way, we got her blouse in Shopee because it’s much cheaper as compared to the ones in the market. And for her skirt, mom made it. We have an antique sewing machine at home. We were able to save a little because of that.

Name tag
I edited her a name tag yesterday. That’s her name — Dominique Keia. I put it on her ID so their teacher could call her during the class.

Art Materials
As always, art materials are needed. We put it in her purple envelope. She’s been using this envelope for a long time now. Inside are colored papers, crayons, glue, clay, and scissors.

Grooming Kit
One of the things that their teacher required is the grooming kit. This tiny box will stay in their room. It contains hygienic things like toothbrush and toothpaste, tissue paper, hand soap, alcohol, cologne, and also extra clothes. Mom put a name on it so it wouldn’t get mixed up with her classmates’ kits.

School Bag
Now, this is her bag. It’s quite big but she’s the one who chose this. We were supposed to buy color pink but she suddenly had changed her mind and chose purple. She loves her bag so much—it’s so evident because she slept beside it for how many nights. We also got her a purple umbrella to match.

Out of all these material things, I wish my sister nothing but the best. I hope she enjoys her class and won’t get grumpy. They have been robbed for two years for being in a classroom setup so I hope the world will get better. The children, who are innocent, are the one who suffers most during times of crisis.

My sister will have afternoon classes and I really hope she won’t get sleepy because she sometimes sleeps in the afternoon.

Seeing her makes me miss being a kid. Young, innocent, and unaware of the cruelty running in this world.

Thus, let’s make this world a better and safer place for the young ones to be able to dream bigger.
