“I carried all the colors, from the portrait of our summer”
Hello, lovely dear readers. It has been months since I last wrote down, this is the highlight of life as a freshie in an unknown city with unfamiliar faces. It’s quite a discomfort at first to be surrounded by people whom you don’t know a single thing and the fact of going kilometers away to pursue college is frightening. You will start to understand the concept of independence where you can no longer rely on anyone, in a place where home is no longer found around the corner.
You will feel all the different types of emotions all at once. The tiredness of the heavy burden you carry every day where no one dares to know and the doubts shred upon you whispering words to your mind. Then you asked yourself “ How far can I go?”. You longed for the laughter of the people who once surrounded you, their silly jokes, and the coffee date after class feels like a dream of tomorrow and you wonder when will be the next time you guys will be eating together in the same canteen or getting the same food. It feels like time is running away from me.
This time the lyrics “ You are on your own kid” were deemed to be becoming real. I am no longer the girl whom my parents once knew, I now carry a lot of pain and difficulties that I’ve suppressed when I am on their shoulders. I will unfurl countless journeys here and this is the start of something new and something anonymous. I am down to any hurdles and challenges.
College is really like the preparation in facing the real world. You have to get used for when all the burden was on you. Especially if malayo ka sa mahal mo sa buhay. But on thr bright side, this can be your best weapon too as you get used to this, mas nagiging brave ka, strong and more determine. So laban lang palagi 💪💪✨
