Exploring the Beauty of Toledo

Toledo City was one of my bucket list places that I wanted to visit. Here it is finally I’ve got to visit it and it is one of my dream places since it is the hometown of my boyfriend. It took almost three hours to arrive at the place. This place became a chartered city on June 18, 1960, and it is widely known for its huge industry of mining it is bordered by South, Cebu. There are lots of tourist spots here in Toledo City but the thing I got in this place was to visit for the first time the family of my partner and his circle of friends.

Recently, as I was so excited to visit the place the first thing we planned was to get a ticket for the south bus, which is their terminal for the Vhire and Ceres buses. You can go there to ride a motorcycle or jeepney to go to the terminal. Then, After we got our ticket we finally rode Vhire to Toledo City for almost 3 hours travelling due to traffic and I slept also while having a ride. As we arrived at the place it was already evening. The first thing I saw in the evening was the beauty of their Arcade, some of the people here hang out in this place while having a bond with friends and family since the front of this arcade is a port of Toledo City. After the vhire dropped us at the terminal, I finally got to see the family of my partner. Beside me was his Grandmother and his Mother. They are so kind anyways.

I was so happy because they treated me also like their own kid for almost a year since it was my first time seeing them. We finally talked and had our sleep on that day.

The other day, we planned to visit a beach near their house since we promised before that if we saw each other again we should have time to visit their sea here in Toledo. It took almost a minute to get to this place while walking or riding a motorcycle and finally, we were here, there we stayed for almost an hour since it was near their house we listened to the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves.

I was so amazed in this place because it gave me serenity and calm while having him beside me. We talked about our lives and talked about our future and we finally had our heart-to-heart talk since were in a year of long-distance relationship and finally, we can have time for anything we want. I told him that every time I visit the sea it gives me peace and calm.

So he is, he told me also that he loves the sea and every time he wants peace he will go to the sea to keep his mind calm since his a seafarer also he appreciates the calmness and beauty of the sea. And there, as we talked about our lives I was so happy that day.

After a few hours, we went to their church to pray. They also celebrate the Sinulog festival here in Cebu every January 28th of the month. They have a procession here and have their festival costume. The thing I love in Cebu is that they are so devoted to Sr. Sto. Niño the Child Jesus. As I got a vacation here in Cebu it was so great timing that I finally had to celebrate also their Sinulog here.

They have a lot of Souvenir t-shirts and some other Sinulog souvenirs. They have also sold some cute headdressers here and it was so colorful. A lot of bracelet souvenir and t-shirts represents the Celebration in Cebu by the people who joined the Festival. I enjoyed the Sinulog here in Toledo with my friends, the circle friends of my boyfriend.

In the evening we went to their barangay to have a disco party and street party and we had some liquor drinks also and we enjoyed it til the morning. We drink and eat a lot of food in Toledo. I was so amazed by their food also it tasted so good, especially this porkchop with gravy and it was so affordable. After the party, we had our sleep together with his friends because, on the next day, we would have our summer outing on their beautiful beach.

The day we went to their beach with our friends we had our camping. We took out the tent and the camping chair. We enjoyed the place with our tent and camping chair it took a minute to symbolize this. After we prepared our tent and camping chair we also bought our food like grilled pork and fish. My boyfriend was assigned to grill our food with his friends and he was enjoying grilled it.

As they prepared our food, I strolled around the beach and took some time to feel the breeze of the sea. I enjoyed it very much and realized that finally, I had reached here the Toledo City. I enjoyed having in here.

Every time I visit a sea like there is a sunset I always remember my late cousin Febe because when we were a child we always loved to have a day in the sea like it was our happy place. I miss her a lot, and every time I miss her I always put in my mind that she was with me anytime. Hoping that she would be with me wherever I go.
