One thing I love about moving in Tisa is that you will never run out of places to eat. Barangay Tisa, Cebu City is dubbed as "walay tugpahay" which basically means a place that doesn't sleep. This is associated with the fact that if you go hungry as late as 3 or 4 AM you'd still find a place to eat here in our area. It's not always the case for most so we're really grateful we live here; we'll never go hungry! 🤣
In one occassion before heading to the Province for a refreshing weekend, we dropped by this hidden food park called Werpa Foodpark. We've been meaning to visit the foodpark and gladly, we made it here. It's not along the highway so better use Google Maps to locate this foodpark.
Is you ask me there's really nothing special about this foodpark; I'm not sure if others will consider it as a highlight but it's worth mentioning that the entire place is made from refurbished container vans painted in vibrant hues and adorned with well-lit signages. The use of container vans for office spaces, homes and restaurants has grown popularity in the recent years.
We were welcomed with food trucks and stalls in different designs offering varying dishes to foodies. It was a Friday when we visited so we were expecting the place to be jampacked with hungry people, gladly it wasn't the case and we easily secured a table to eat what we have ordered.
While waiting for our orders to be served, we decided to tour around the foodpark's 2nd floor. There we found a woven rattan dome, a sofa best for taking photos and a few closed rooms that turned out to be mini KTV/Karaoke rooms that people could rent by the hour.
From the second floor, a pleasant sight of the multi-colored tables and benches and lined up warm lights gave the place a cozy vibe. With all these, the air was filled with glee.
The place exudes joy and serenity especially that night because an acoustic band played songs while everyone dined with friends and family. I was a bit disappointed tho with the number of stalls inside the foodpark, I was expecting more that what I've seen. Many of the stalls weren't operational during our visit, there was even one stall that moved out their equipment during our visit. There's a long list of reasons for discontinuing business but the most logical one is that it's no longer profitable. They're not attracting enough people to sustain the stall's growth and more so, the bottomline. I hope the management of the foodpark thinks of ways to entice more customers to pay a visit here.
Nonetheless, this worked to our advantage that night as we were looking for great way to distress and this little and concealed foodpark gave us what we were looking for.
Oh, by the way we ordered some carbonara and sisig with egg, rice and refreshing yakult-based drinks. The food was not exceptional but at least it's not expensive. The quality was fair enough for the price. We really came for the experience and the place's vibe.
