Maayo Hotel Resort: Our Summer Getaway

Nothing beats the home-y feels, the alluring pool and the white sand beach, the breezy air, the hospitable staff, and the luxurious atmosphere found in Maayo Hotel Resort—a destination to unwind and retreat towards tranquility with your loved ones or by yourself located in the Northwest Part of Cebu. Good day, my fellow Hivers! What’s new? This is @nashhh and allow me to walk you through my family’s escapade and overnight stay at this paradise.

Maayo is a well-known resort here in the Northwest part of Cebu. Yet, as a local, this is the first time I've visited the place. My parents searched for a place to relax and they agreed to wend our way here. As we arrived, we were welcomed by their logo out at the entrance gate, and I was jumping with glee inside and thrilled to spend the night here with my family!

We were greeted by the coziness of the place—the relaxed aura astonished me. The atmosphere was perfect for summer feels—you could feel the warm breeze of air hugging you. There was also this fountain out in the front, it was lovely (although it wasn’t filled with water at that moment). The big porch was the entrance to the receptionist area, where you could check in or check out, pay for the entrance fee, etc.

I was in awe of the homely feeling as we entered the lobby or the reception area. The place was air lapse, you could feel the fresh breeze from the sea embracing you, and it was just superb! The couch was so neatly and cleanly arranged, that you would feel discouraged to sit and ruin it. The plants also added to the ambiance of the place. The hospitality workers here were also very accommodating and amenable.

Beside the lounge building, we can find this spacious parking lot. It was filled with trees which improved the impression of being more heavenly to one’s perception. Moreover, it was a good space for those who didn’t want their car to be soaked by the heat of the sun. The place is secure, you can surely enjoy your stay here without worrying about the things you have in your car.

This recreation area on the other side, augmented more appeal and warmth to the place. You can do your recreational activities with your companions if you wish to. They have this net on the side, where you can either play volleyball or badminton. The greenness of the surroundings added more charm to the snugness of the space.

The pools were crystal clear and were just beguiling. They have two pools, the other one is for kids, which I think is three to four feet. On the other part, the infinity pool was amazingly vast, which was five feet in depth. It was a good spot to watch the sunrise. They have this lounge on both sides of the pool, still submerged in the water where you can sit and relax. And it’s marvelous that they have this bar stool that sells coffee, milkshakes, liquor, and many more! I was ecstatic as I saw it, I thought I could only see them in movies(although they weren’t open at that moment). Anyway, we took a dip in the pool when nightfall came —it was such an enjoyable experience.

After we ran out of energy swimming in the pool, we had to walk to our room to change and rest. This is where we stayed the night, the resort was enormous—they have these three buildings, and all of them were rooms to stay in overnight. Since the resort is near the sea, it was a really cold night. The room we checked in has two beds, one comfort room, an air conditioner, and other necessities.

There's this small park and a playground in front of the building. During the night, I had trouble sleeping due to the cold temperature. So, I stayed out late and I stayed for a while on the balcony. I was bored so I went downstairs and sat on the swings that are found on the other side. It was a peaceful chill night, I could say this is a place where you can truly unwind.

When the morning came, we ate breakfast first. After that, we took some morning strolls around the resort, and we found this. I don’t know what it is called, but it is something. I still couldn’t get over how huge this resort is. And I love that everywhere I go, there are trees which made the resort so full of lush greenery. Moving on, we wished to see the sun rise so we had to go to the seaside.

When we reached the shore, we were disappointed due to the cloudy weather which hindered the view as the sunrises. But the ocean was so enticing and relaxing that it soothes our dismay. Then, I had just found out that they had stools on the shoreline too—perfect place to sunbathe in, and get your tans on! They also have this floating cottage, which was not yet open. I wanted to go there but it was distant and I couldn’t swim. Yet, I had to have my morning swim at the sea before we headed home, so I did (just in the shallow parts). No one could top the seawater, it felt so refreshing after that—it’s like the water rinsed everything away that runs in my mind. Moments later, we had to go home so we readied our things, checked out, etc. We got home refreshed and full of memories!
