Then this slowly transitioned to a more mature and selfless thinking of how Christmas is a season of giving than receiving.

I was in college when I realized that giving is better than receiving. Every Christmas break I do part time job just to have something to share with my cousins. They're more than ten actually.
You can't trade anything with that kind of happiness.
