Hello, dear Hivers!
This is a late post , but I just wanted to share what happened before the typhoon hit. That was also the reason why I haven't been able to publish here on Hive for a while because the electricity took a long time to come back . We were saving our battery and only used our phones when necessary. And now, the electricity is back , but the weak signal is the new problem.

On the morning of November 3, 2025, it had been raining heavily. However , we were still preparing for the upcoming typhoon Tino at that time. Our neighbors were also busy packing their things. Some of them decided to just dismantle their tents because they might just be carried away by the storm , and they returned to their houses. There were also others who just stayed in their tents and reinforced them.

We had no choice but to bathe in the rain while we helped dad to strengthen the tent. We surrounded it with rope, wire and other strong materials that could be used to prevent it from being easily blown away by the wind. We tied it to sturdy wood, banana trees, and added more wood where it could be tied.

However, we didn't plan to just stay in the tent , we just secured it because of the constant shaking and hoped that we might be able to get back there after the typhoon. Until now, there are still tremors that we feel , and we are more secure when we are in the tent in case of tremors. But due to the typhoon we were forced to go home first. So my mother and other siblings together with my cousin were packing our things and gradually bringing them home.

It is also possible to lose electricity so we made sure to charge all our cellphones and flashlights including our radio. Another advantage is that we have many extensions and we were able to use them all at the same time.
When evening came, we had an early dinner and also prepared for where we might sleep. Although our own house isn't finished yet, we have a store where we can sleep. However, we couldn't all fit there because our relatives also slept there that night. So , five of us had to sleep in the tent.
A lot happened that night, and I couldn't sleep until morning, so I felt the strength of the wind, and I could also see what was happening outside. Many banana trees fell , and the wind was so strong that it gradually damaged what served as our door.
I was trying to sleep, but as the wind splashed , I also woke up because it seemed like our tent was about to be blown away. I thought that our tent would remain in good condition because it was morning and it was still in good condition even though some parts were destroyed. But, the wind is still not over and is getting stronger. I just went to our house for a while, but when I returned to the tent, what served as our roof was gradually being destroyed little by little.
Thank you so much for the curation 🤗.
Im glad you are safe @mariajasmin as well as your family. That was a good one when you made sure the tent would not be easily carried away by fixing it. Your family is good in teamwork, working under the rain or in hours away from the typhoon. I hope you did not have a fever or colds after that day. Always make sure to secure yourselves after the things are secured. Tents is not safe advised when typhoon is doing its landfall. Ingat kayo palagi❤️
Thank you for your kind words, I'm so glad no one in our family got sick. Safety is really more important than material things. Stay safe also 🤗.
I hope there's no more super typhoon coming in our country. It's very difficult to deal with all the devastations every typhoon brings.
I hope so, too.
But still, so glad to see that everyone is safe. It's one tough day ha, with fears. And so good to hear na ayos na electricity there. Okay naman bahay nuyo?
We've been staying at my aunt's house since 2023 because our house still isn't finished being rebuilt. And we were so glad that the houses here weren't hit too badly.
