Bohol Unfolded: A Quick Getaway

Hello everyone, it's me again, @lorene08, back with another blog. Today I will be sharing my quick vacation in Bohol last July 2023 with my father.

Last July 11, 2023, was our 51st recognition, and so my father decided that after our recognition, he would bring me to Bohol since he works there, since it will be my second time visiting Bohol, I was very excited. I am not used to traveling to far places, and I don't prefer going to places riding a bus because I tend to get nauseous every time. It is very challenging for me to travel places like going to Cebu since it will take 2 to 4 hours to get there, but then during that time, my mindset was, "It will be okay; at least I will be seeing Bohol once again, and I will enjoy the rest of my vacation there.".

As far as I remember (since it was a long time ago), we arrived at the port around 4 or 5 am, and so I and my father decided to buy foods to eat since we were very hungry, and there was no selling of foods on the boat we are going to ride since the time travel will only take 1 to 2 hours (but we can bring foods there, though). And minutes later it was our time to go, and it was probably around 6 am. I also got excited when I got to the boat because of the beautiful sunrise I saw.

After my father and I got into the boat, I was very nervous that time because of the waves. But then I just enjoyed the moment, watching movies on the TV boat and also enjoying the beautiful view of Cebu. I also brought my photocards with me.

I also got excited because the boat we were riding went under the CCLEX, or the Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway.

After an hour, we arrived at Talibon, Bohol, which is where my father's rented small apartment was located. So before we got to his apartment, we rode a bus, which only took about 20 minutes, and then we rode a tricycle, which is just for 5 minutes or less than that. My father's rented apartment was just near a known college in Bohol, and I was also amused because his apartment was so close to a big mall. Anyway, back to my vacation in Bohol: after we arrived, we just changed our clothes, and my father planned that we would just eat our lunch at Jollibee since he was too tired to cook, and he also planned that we would buy groceries.

Upon arriving at the mall, I was so shocked at how big it was, it had lots of things inside, like in the first picture, it has World of Fun and Penshoppe, and it also had access to an underground place where there is lots of thrift stores and also hair salons and access to the town's market.

Time skip: after how many days there are a lot of things I did in Bohol, I even dyed my hair brown, and it was my FIRST time dying my hair after I rebonded it. I was so nervous that time overthinking that what if it wouldn't fit me or my hair would get damaged. I also cut my hair that time. 3 days after I cut and dyed my hair (since it was rebonded), probably because of the chemicals applied during the coloring of my hair, my rebonded hair started to get curly, but it was cool to have my old hair back lolz.

Here are the rest of my Bohol getaway photo dumps. Most of my days there were spent at my father's rented apartment because he had work, but I still enjoyed it even though I stayed at home (because I'm a homebody). He also brought me to his boss's house, and we went to the nearest 7/11. On my last day in Bohol, we just had a simple father-and-daughter time by eating in Chowking.

During my quick Bohol getaway, I learned that the most meaningful part of traveling isn't just going to places you want to go or visit, but it can also be those moments you spend with your loved ones.
