Good day my fellow Hivers! How are you this following days? I guess you're all good and having a healthy life. This is me again @kyyyys sharing you another blog to read. So, On this blog I will share about how I explored the BOGO MUSEUM which is located at the northern part of Cebu.
Going to the museum is one of my bucket lists.
At my vacant time in school i decided to go to the Bogo Museum which is located at Bogo city Public Library (you can see it in the back of the Bogo Public Plaza). On February 29, 2023 in the afternoon my other fellow classmates were busy practicing the dance for the upcoming event in our school and practicing the poster and slogan, while me and my friend didn't participate in the said event because we don't have the talent and skills which they required to join. But, we needed to pay the amount of 150 pesos for the materials needed because it's compulsory to pay even though we didn't join the activities. So, As a girl who loved traveling and exploring different places I ended up in the Bogo Museum with my friend named Meriam.
It looks like an old abandoned building because I can't find any people roaming around the place. Upon entering I can see that the furnitures and paintings are old but it wasn't dusty nor dirty. The outside looks old fashioned but the inside was opposite. As the saying goes OLD BUT GOLD.
Upon strolling around I found more paintings and pictures displayed and hanged on the wall. I also noticed the Statue of The Father of bogo "Pedro Rodriguez" a former Municipal President of Bogo on year 1980's. His birthday is celebrated yearly by the people of bogo with a grand parade and other festivities.
After looking at the statue of the former president I decided to stroll once more. I found out that the other antiques are not accessible for free if you want to access you have to pay 10 pesos for the people aged 13 to up and 5 pesos for kids who are 12 years old and under, and write our names on their logbook for documentary purposes. They only have one staff member there and the antique things are displayed inside.
These are old music instruments displayed in the museum.
This is the NATURAL SCIENCE section which you can see different kinds of shells and these shells were donated by an American Shell Collector and Art Professor named JEFF WYMAN. These are part of his large collection of Philippine shells, many of which were found in the coastal Barangay of Bogo City.
This is a Fossilized Giant Clam
In perfect condition Fossil of this kind are estimated to be between one to three million years old. It is found in a quarry between Barangay Cayang and Don Pedro.
The next thing is the beautiful paintings displayed between the shell and other antiques. These are painted by our talented local painters in Bogo City.
Gabriel 'flash' Elorde
A WHALEBONE, it is a bone of Balyena or also known as Whale, it was captured in Barangay Nailon BOGO City, in the year 1987. These whalebone is so big, imagine having the entire bone will be great right?

As we all know, our ancestors didn't have the machine that we use now a days. They only crafted it with their bare hands for them to help the people who worked hard before. Our generation is so lucky, imagine having Gadgets, Machine, Car, Motorcycle, bus, etc.. that they didn't have in the early ages.
