*Just chilling here at my favorite café and "working" on my craft. Most of the time, I write blogs and develop creative ideas while people watching here.
Introduction
It's a fine Monday morning here in the Philippines with a lot of news around the world, both positive and negative, the Olympics, and attention grabbing content from the senate and congress on the local news. It's a topsy-turvy world we are living in and we need to keep ourselves grounded to maintain sanity. Mental health is an issue that needs to be constantly addressed for us to continue moving forward. So, how are you doing today? I mean, how are you really doing? The question is for each one of us to answer quietly. As I reflect on the Year of the Dragon, I feel good that better days are yet to arrive despite the craziness going on everywhere. I have a good affinity with Dragon people.and the Dragon year so it's a relatively good year so far.
My freewriting methodology
If you've read my blogs recently, you might have noticed that I do a lot of freewriting. Just starting out on the editor without a topic to begin with. I kick it off with a word or phrase, an activity I have done or want to do, or something that I've seen on the news. It doesn't matter where the inspiration came from; the point is to have a starting point. Sometimes, I think about writing something on a particular topic that I'm interested in, such as the upcoming US elections, and just write about it. It helps me understand the topic and might even get a reply from someone who actually knows a lot about the topic. I then go back and see if I want to add or remove a word or sentence, or maybe even get up and pace around or go to the convenience store to get something just to rest so that I can go back to the editor with a fresh perspective on what I've written so far.
I then go on Canva to upload a photo that I took and find a nice template that matches with it, do some editing, and download or copy to the draft afterwards. But since I'm on mobile today, I will just choose a photo from the gallery or take a new photo, edit on Snapseed, then add it to the draft.
Depending on the subject, I do another pass and just skim on my draft while completing the description and tags. I usually add a 5% beneficiary to another account that I'd like to support or build up. I do a final visual pass, then upload the blog post.
It takes anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours to get to this point. Time spent per article depends on how fast ideas come up, or how slowly I write because writers block is real folks.
Conclusion
Freewriting is dope. It's a fairly simple, straightforward, and flexible methodology for creating content that I use to create mg blog posts. How about you? How do you create content for your blog?
And that's it for today. If you've made it this fat, then thanks a bunch for taking time and making an effort to read my blog post. Hopefully, you learned something or somehow found this entertaining.
Finally, hope you're having a good day and wising you good luck and blessings.
Love and peace.
