How my travelling journey started and how travelling changed me.

Hi Hivers! This is me again Jonahlyn and today, I would like to share how I ended up travelling to different places in the Philippines and the main reasons why I travel.

In my previous blog, which is my introduction of myself, I shared to you guys that we ended up living in Marinduque for good when I was in 4th year High School, but before that we also transferred to three different places where we reside during my childhood days. I think this is where my travelling journey started (hahaha, just kidding).

It was when I graduated from college and decided to pursue my career in Manila that started my journey in traveling. I worked in a Company in Paranaque, where I met Ms. Kew (her nickname), my workmate and my senior, who loves to travel. I was invited with my friend and co-worker ms. yvonne to a hiking in Mt. Manalmon, which is actually my first hike and also first time to travel with colleagues.

I used to be an introvert and will prefer to stay at home than communicating with people which surely exhaust me at the end of the day. I never thought that at that moment my life would start to change. I started appreciating their company and started small talks and sharing bits of my life’s story. We started as colleague to travel buddies and ended up becoming best of friends.

I realized that travelling started to motivate me to work hard and to finish my tasks on time. During difficult times in work, it became one of the reasons why I never gave up, cause at the end of those hardships my reward to myself is travelling in a place where I never been to and experience peace and to celebrate my success of accomplishing / surpassing those little challenges.

Although we are not anymore workmates, we still communicate and we still have some times together before pandemic happened.

During pandemic, I was relocated to Zambales, Cotabato and Sorsogon due to work, and in every province, I was relocated, I tried my best to discover the places to visit in each location I’ve been and I am happy to do such for I don’t know when can I go back to these places (I might not be coming back to these places anymore, who knows? hahaha)

Travelling became one of my stress relieving activities. Being with nature is very relaxing and will let you forget about the worries and problems you are facing right now. I think one of the best things that happened in my life thru travelling is meeting people from other places, learning from them and their culture, and not only becoming their friends but as well as treating you as their family

For those who know me during school days I think, they might say that I changed a lot, from a quiet and introvert girl who don’t usually talk to anyone to an extroverted introvert version (Jonahlyn v.2.0) which can now share her opinions and not afraid to socialize. (Though we still need recharging after a day of socialization hahaha).

I hope you enjoy reading this blog and continue to support me here in Hive. Thank you for your time and see you in my next blogs!

I quite agree. I need to recharge after social activities, and I prefer small groups of friends over crowded venues or parties with strangers. It's not that I dislike people, I just need some quiet time to myself after working a shift at the library, which is not as quiet as you might think, and quite likely to drain my social activity battery regardless of the noise level.

It looks like you have been on a lot of adventures! If you ever make it to the USA, I suggest touring the Columbia River gorge east of Portland, Oregon for amazing waterfalls and forest trails. Beacon Rock and Multnomah Falls are highly recommended!

Yes @jacobtothe ,same feeling, I also enjoy 'me time'.

I hope someday, I could visit those places you mentioned. :) I'm really excited to do so.

Traveling can be healing and this is why many are recommending change of scenery, when things get complicated. Looks like you have been making the most of it and I'm glad to know that as that means we're going to see more fun posts from you :)

Wow! traveling really helps you a lot to go out from being introvert. I love traveling too, that's one of my heart desires but financial aspects won't allow me to do so lalo na ngayon that I am already married and have a child.

Keep traveling @jonahlyn and it will help you more to be a better version of yourself.

Traveling is really a stress reliever! After working so hard everyday, we look forward to where we would go next and just by imagining it makes us excited. 😅

Yes! That's true! :) It really makes us excited :)

Your photos are nice🥰, you really had fun climbing mountains. I Love travelling but most times it makes me so stressed out that I want to stay in bed for days. Haha

Thank you @zara-dee-first , why does it make you so stressed? Hahaha I felt the same after a super tiring travel, I just want to sleep the whole week after hahahaha. :)

Climbing mountains or hills is really exhausting to me and the thing is I don't do it often so whenever I do, I feel the impact greatly as I'm not used to it. Haha

Wow, seriously, you have a plan to travel the whole world? You are starting now here in the Philippines. Why I am so jealous 🤧. I also want ro travel but aside from I am too lazy to do that, I also hate crowded places. Aigooo, if only.

If I could only do that,I will, hahahah :) . I hope someday we can do it!
