Let's Make The World A Better Place | Environmental Awareness

in Hive PH2 years ago

Since November is National Environmental Awareness Month, and as support to this global awakening program. Let me share with you my contribution to a cleaner environment.

The world we live in is full of beautiful creatures that interact with each other. Every move has corresponding consequences because everything is interconnected. Just like our environment, need a helping mind and hands to take care of it. Our actions today bring a brighter tomorrow.

Clean Surroundings

As an educator and an environmental enthusiast, I always make sure to let our students clean our assigned areas (disclaimer: this is also an exercise and part of students' daily habit) not just ours but also the entire ground to be exact. If you're asking if I helped them? Yes, I do. I did help them to lessen the time allocated for cleaning.

Students were into gardening as well. They brought bolo (a tool for gardening) to pull the unwanted weeds. Others were sweeping the ground from the inside campus up to the outskirts area.

Happy as they were to help clean our school as our everyday environment. The overwhelming feeling as we see our ground CLEAN AND GREEN. Our school is full of green plants and for sure we breathe clean air.

Make Use of Recycled Materials

We have to throw our garbage in the proper waste disposal and segregate them accordingly to determine recyclable materials. Good thing we practiced that in our school so that students were also aware of this.

Our school held a contest in which to showcase their talent of making recyclable materials into something to wear. Instead of throwing it away, it can be useful for something and make it a new one.

These two are my contestants in Mr. and Ms. Biotiful 2022. They used plastics, newspapers, and dried banana leaves (it is indigenous material, something off to the criteria😁 but laban! (fighting).

Other contestants were very creative in making costumes. They used newspapers, eco bags, garbage bags, used tin foil, etc. We see how innovative they were, the essence of valuing things and making use of used materials.

Another was Banner making contest made of recycled and indigenous materials. The supposed-to-be-thrown caps of soda bottles, sacks, and plastic bottles are of use. This is also a way of protecting our environment from GARBAGE POLLUTION.

Conservation

We have to conserve everything consumable most especially WATER, in which only 1% of water is drinkable. Imagine that little amount of water that quenches our thirst and is essentially needed by our body. We can survive a day with just drinking water if no food is taken.

Another is gasoline, in which last few months there's been a shortage of gasoline due to typhoon Odette. The price was too high, ranging from 55 to 80. Everybody panicked and it came to the point that they even hoard gasoline, which is not good. Until it came back to normal setting (Thank God).

Educate Learners

Educate learners not only in academics but also in morals. They have to control themselves from doing so to avoid early pregnancy and early fatherhood. One of the biggest problems in the Philippines is OVER POPULATION. It should be given attention to for the betterment of our country.

Plant More Trees

In our school we have the monthly Tree planting activity, this is in regards to gaining trees in our environment. Even in my residence I also plant trees like fruit-bearing plants. This is a simple reminder that the place we leave in is critical due to GLOBAL WARMING, so to prevent it we have to plant more trees.

This kind of initiative is what I like most in public schools because it allows students to reconnect with the environment. Although for some, it looks lame it has a big effect. How I wish many people continue to do this though. Go for a clean and eco-friendly environment. !PIZZA

Thank you so much for the support @dennnmarc we are the one who are responsible for everything so let's CLEAN, CONSERVE and PLANT

Kuddos to you Ma'am. Ang Ganda nung mga recycled costume and I'm happy seeing the students cleaning our nature

Thank you po Ma'am @yen1503 God bless ❤️

This is a kind of activity that will instill environmental awareness to students and teachers as well. It will make them come up of an idea about recycling and be creative in other way.

Let's continue to make the world a better place for us to live and for the future generation to enjoy.

I miss doing such kind of activities for environmental literacy. I was often active in tree planting and community service back then. Now, we still do this in college. Collecting plastic bottles and making something creative out of it, doing our best to produce something beautiful to win a contest that its objectives to teach the students to recycle.

It's good to see that these kinds of programs are still implented in various schools around the country. I salute to all educators like you who never gets tired of teaching the kids of the importance of a cleaner and greener environment.

Definitely sir, it is a big help to our environment. The struggle in looking for those recyclable materials indeed an initiative. The art it applies made the materials looked a new one.

Thank you for that sir!

It's nice to see a lot of students still participate in this kind of initiative. Kudos to teachers like you too!

Thanks Ma'am. We teachers should be part of initiative that would lead to a better future.
