I hurried to our neighbor's sari-sari store and grabbed whatever I could. I looked at my watch, "quarter to one" I thought. We're running late.
50 Pesos worth of snacks. That was all they asked us to bring for the gift exchange and I could barely manage to pick the items on the last minute. Juggling this party and work was already a struggle. I'd hate to give just my bare minimum effort... let's up that to 100 Pesos.
The strain of adulting seemed to have melted the moment we got there. Finally the holidays buzz started to kick in. An air of excitement, of wanting to have fun and play, the smell of Jollibee Chicken Joy in the air... a few Mariah Careys and Michael Bublés spread in the noon air.
No words can grasp the essence of this day, even our memories trick us as we age.
Yet pictures never lie.
As kids all we really wanted when we "party" was to go there, grab some snacks, play games and win prizes. Maybe with a bit of luck we'll go home with a toy or two.
This is joy in pictures.
Merry Christmas!
The kids look so happy, Their smiles are genuine.
Thank you @mooontivated they really were! It resurrected the kid in me, the shy one who was there only for the pinata (and that's okay, younger me)
Awww, it's genuine happiness gor these kids. Look how happy they are in this fun moments of them ❤️
It's easier to snap genuine smiles from kids. They are unapologetically there for the party! 😄
